How To Replace a Water Pump and Save $783

  • čas přidán 4. 06. 2019
  • Water pump replacement DIY. Learn how to replace a water pump at home using common hand tools. I was able to easily replace this water pump in under an hour and saved $783.
Replacing the water pump on many cars is not difficult and this is a perfect example of an easy to replace water pump. You could do this entire job without any special tools and I spent under $60 in parts which is unbelievable after getting the $843 quote from the Jaguar dealership. I will also do a video on a more difficult water pump so you can see what is involved in that as well.
Thanks PEAK for the coolant product placement in this video!

The Dream Car video is coming but because it is a very special video for me, I want to make sure it is amazing, so it is taking a little longer than I thought to film and edit (you will see why when it comes out). In the meantime, I filmed and edited this water pump video to bridge the gap. I actually edited this video during my 2 week long road trip where I had meet-ups for you guys in Cincinnati, Indy, and Chicago! As always thank you for the support and stay tuneeeeeed!
P.S. Here is a link to the first every DIY video I did on my channel to help people:

If I could start my life over I would go into the automotive repair trade.
I have made a lot of money and helped a lot of people as an electrician but auto mechanic is a lot more relevant to life (if that makes sense) and more related to my passion.
    And I love troubleshooting.

coincidentally i just did my ranger water pump. The water pump was pretty easy to get off but the gasket material took twice as long to remove from the engine than the entire water pump. Brake clean didnt work that well. Ended up using 3000 sand paper. Anybody got ideas for getting the stubborn gasket off in future?

Hey Chris my car overheating gage shoots up only a few minutes after starting the engine. I would think it would take some time before the needle shoots up so I’m wondering it could be more than a thermostat issue. Does that sound like a water pump or a Head Gasket issue?

Hi Chris fix I was hoping that you might be able to help me diagnose the problem I'm having and that is when I give it the gas not a lot just a little all the sudden I hear squeaking in the vehicle like in the engine area so I was hoping maybe you'd have a tip on how to diagnose that and then when I let off the gas of course it goes away thank you

All new parts going in and I’ve never ever worked on a truck this size. Saved probably thousands of dollars already. After this moving in to the front of the car. Feels good.
