the most impressive part of the knockout is the fact that he didn't follow through at the end. He didn't know whether he was gonna get up or not. Most boxers would have punched him as he was coming down. What a man
Clay hit him in the back of the head right before he unleashed on him is why, he knew he stunned him.
@Tomáš Kořínek ali beat george
The majority of the comments on this video are all saying about how he held his punch. This just demonstrates most people don't read before they write.
Ali, not only had power, he was smart, that is why he was the best.
@Tomáš Kořínek No much difference, Ali was much smarter, he waited and finished off, that is it.
1:03:51.... I love the way Ali jumps into character. He was calm one second, and then he creates this iconic promo the next. He was so great
Ali is the genius of boxing, he made his opponent get tired first before he strikes, that is pure brilliant
One of the iconic knockouts in boxing history..
"Don't mind me calling you Jimmy?" Very classy from Joe and the legendary Jim Brown took it in great decency. Both legends as part of all the legends in this video!
When you see George's other fights, and watch the power that he hit people with shows you just how great Ali truly was
@My My this comment is so stupid I had to show my friend. Do you know the amount of brain damage consistently using 6oz gloves would do to someone over their career?? Not to mention the amount of broken hands would be multiplied by triple at least. Go back to MMA and watch their best guys hug on the floor for minutes.
im the best fighter in the world watch my crazy ftn
George punches are deadly even today. But what happens if you work with strategy? and drive a man in the size and weight of Foreman to the warmest clime??Let him punch himself out for 8 rounds??Then you have an exosted giant.
@My My awe, lookie here....someone is jealous of 3 of the greatest BOXERS in history.
Imagine being there in those times amazing atmosphere
Epic post-fight interview. Most powerful personality.
More the fight itself, it was the atmosphere of the place, the passion of the people is what stood out for me. The whole place was in pandemonium when the fight ended. We don't see this kind of passion anymore in boxing. This was the golden age of boxing .
Masha Allah, Amazing fighter, with Golden heart ♥
“I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.” - Muhammad Ali
Mom son perv
Of course in those conditions...very easy for Ali. However would the ring ropes not been slackened to allow the "greatest" to cushion Foreman's punches...Ali would have been to hospital.
@Aryan Ariaye Tyson is just humble he knows he would beat the shit outta Ali
@Sherman Harris 😂😂 knocked him out?😂😂🤣🤣 or you be knocked😂😂🤣
@Elgin Mehmeti kid, you should listen to what mike said about ali (no hate to tyson)
Ali was involved in two of the greatest upsets ever in beating Sonny Liston and George Foreman!!!! The GOAT!!
I love how foreman bounces around the ring during is entrance pure genius
Who watching in 2022. Muhammad Ali The Greatest of all Time ❤️
Ya iam watching in 2467 ...still ALI is the GREATEST... 💕💕💕
F*cking amazing .. probably one of the best fights I've ever seen .. ali fought well but also made foreman fight his fight sitting on the ropes
Even in 200 years people will watch this and think damnn I wish I had lived in his time. RIP legend you never die. ❤️
No, there will have been better fighters and matchups by then.
199 years to go. one day whom ever read this will be please to know that God loves him/her and everything is going to be alright,
@Ahmed El AND AGAIN ...AND AGAIN ... AND AGAIN ...AND AGAIN ...AND AGAIN ... AND AGAIN ...i HAVE SEEN THIS FIGHT PROBABLY 50 TIMES /// I LAUGH MYSELF SILLY AT HOW E A S I L Y HE BEAT FOREMAN .i SEE SOMETHING NEW EVERYTIME I WATCH IT .... IT IS MY FAVOURITE ALI FIGHT ... EVERY TIME I LAUGH AT SOMETHING NEW ... FOREMAN SLEEP WALKED INTO A BEATING ..AS ALI SAID TO FORMAN IN THE INTRODUCTION :" NOW I GOT YOU SUCKER ... YOU'RE IN THE RING WITH ME GEORGE " " COME INTO MY WEB SAID THE SPIDER TO THE FLY "Annnnnnnnd .... IN WENT THE GEORGE THE FLY ... TOOOOOOO LATE !.............. IT WAS JUST LIKE A VENUS FLY TRAP
@Brad Owen ...Why did you decide to what it?
يعني مش زمن الرسول؟الله يهديك
Ali was a 11 to 1 underdog in this fight.
I haven't seen anyone like him since he retired, still the greatest, the champ
He keeps talking to him, he keeps shattering his spirit everytime he talks to him, and at the end Foreman had nothing
Ali always in my deepest hearts.... In indonesian people
I was a Japanese senior high school student at that time, and none of my classmates including me believed Ali`s victory. Because of his victory, I learn that a miracle could happen, and he taught me that "Never give up, and continue making efforts to the last ditch." Later, George Foreman regained the Championship at the age of 45. Great George also did a miracle. Ali and Foreman are my greatest heroes.
@D. B. Hey If You Just Barely Heard The Result Of This Fight, Almost Fifty Years Later, Don’t Blame Anyone For Spoiling It For You. You Can’t Possibly Be A True Boxing Fan, And Don’t Follow The Fight Game. You Are Not A True Fan Of The Sport, Or Are Real Fan Of Muhammad Ali.
@Empty He was a Japanese “student”. He’s still Japanese obviously.
Well your hero’s staged this whole fight hope u enjoyed it
@Kamal Daud Ali enjoyed bouncing his head off everyone’s gloves and won the Parkinsonism award
So many people think Ali just leaned on the ropes while Foreman beat on him. The truth is that yes he did lean on the ropes, but Foreman was the one getting beat up. Foreman's punches throughout the fight were not scoring or doing any damage and Ali was hitting Foreman almost at will and doing loads of damage.
Ali was literally crazy in this fight! Lol
Don King is huge. He overshadows even Foreman when they were walking around in the ring, prefight. No wonder he was such a scary guy!
I originally watched this fight live on tv, I was 14, I'd seen Foreman absolutely destroy both Frazier and Norton. Even as a huge Ali fan I just couldn't see him beating Foreman, just about every sports writer had Foreman winning by early knockout. I was elated that he won, but felt guilty about doubting him. Watching the fight now, I can see that it was a relatively easy win for Ali, he won practically every round, George is almost dead on his feet after round 3, and obviously we now know that Ali had probably the strongest chin in heavyweight boxing. It all looks so simple now, but at the time everyone thought Ali's tactics were wrong, until he proved he was right.
which chin? have you ever seen Ali taking punches from Foreman? And did you know why? Have you ever seen the ring ropes so slackened? That, and only that allowed Ali to cushion those Foreman's punches. Come on people, do not be victimes of brain washing. Ali would have been to hospital if those ropes would not having been manipulated.
@Daniel Benoit I think George chuvalo knock Ali down in the first fight they had
Can't ignore George Chuvalo for strongest chin
@TruthOverLiesyou do know Ali won right?
I was in the UK when this fight took place. I had grown up watching Ali, from when he first fought Henry Cooper ( as Clay then). He became my absolute hero, and revolutionised what a heavy weight boxer could be. When Ali fought Fireman I genuinely feared for him. Because of the time difference I woke in the morning fearfully listening to the news on the BBC expecting to hear that Ali had been destroyed. The sheer joy I felt when the result was broadcast, was mixed with amazement. I am now over 70, but this victory still stands out as the greatest sporting victory in my life. I still watch it, and still get goosebumps with a smile on my face.
I'm an Ali fan, I didn't know what to think, the way Foreman dismantled Frazier and Norton, I didn't think Ali could win but I remembered how he upset Liston and I felt Ali had the skills to win and damned if he didn't.
@Beuq Many thanks Beuq for your good wishes. Yes, another year. And still healthy. Best wishes to you.
@David Roles I pray to have a life as long as yours. I’m 22 now, and I know you’re 71 now, so cheers to another year 🍻
I got goosebumps reading your experience. Cheers
This is like a bullfight, Ali the matador, Forman the bull, just like a matador he keeps that bull at bay, and then wares him out and goes in for the kill. The Greatest isn't a Great enough word for Ali, he defys definition.
I love how Ali holds his last punch as foreman was going down. A true champion.
Me to he knew he was 👍
If it were Tyson he couldn't resist giving him brain damage. Mohammad, a man of principles inspite of the odds & the tyranny.
@Raylan Givens 🤤
As a quality writer once wrote (for a tv show) regarding holding back on a perfect, victorious moment, “It’ll be like the punch Ali never threw at Foreman because it would be inelegant”.
@Jack offing stick to j-offing, its what you’re good at.
I love Foreman’s later interview when he spoke about Ali’s trash talk. Foreman said after landing a big shot on Ali, he looked at George and said “I thought you could punch George. Is that as hard as you can hit?”. Foreman said he thought to himself “Yep. That’s just about it.” Ali is the greatest.
SVETSKA LEGENDA BOKSA
Homeboy got wrecked if you ask me. Getting mauled the entire night. His his have no power. Love traps
I also laugh when Ali said "Oh George..you were at school, when I was beatin Sonny Liston"
That's to 😍 cute
if only those wild strong punches of foreman, landed properly he will supposed to be win the fight
Each time I watch the knockout it sends shivers down my neck! The entire world thought Ali's life was in danger taking this fight. He is irreplaceable.
@John Brown Best American Ever !! You're trolling, right? Fury destroyed him all 3 times lmao
@John Brown Best American Ever !! I agree. Fury got an 18-second count and should have lost the first fight by KO.
@Brian Pex Yes perhaps you're right. But Ali was old and slower himself. Watching it live my adrenaline was going through the roof. Did you watch it live? Do you remember the build-up?
Each time I see this, I think Foreman was so out of shape stamina wise. He was winded by round three!! WEAK!
@edwin pillay I kno this is why Wilder should of won!!! Fury should of lost 1st and 3rd he was KO in both if we compare fights
That last 20 to 30 seconds of round 5 was one of the best I've seen. Ali just came out with all his strength and shocked us all. And the face that he made at Jim Brown was classic
Amendment Amen 🙏💞🙏💞
Nortan fought ali(broke jaw)liston but as far as this fight, who's foreman!!!?the meastro tought the whole world a lesson in boxing. The one thing no blasphemy intended:I don't think the mighty Allah boxes!
Norton helped prepare Ali for Foreman, as you look at the fight Ali did not just sit on the ropes and let Foreman pound on him he actually pulled his head forward to throw him off balance and he gave him a lot of shots in return first round on if you listen to The Telecast Jim Brown is the first to speak on it and the second round Jim said if Foreman keeps taking these shots he won't be around I watch Norton and Ali those three fights Simply Amazing how do you fight 12 round fight and not sit down the last fight was a 15 round fight championship fight neither man sat down and fought a war
ali was like “is that your world champion? let me knock him out for you real quick”
51:44, an unforgettable moment in boxing history.
Respect to the champ✊
Almost 50 years later this is still one of the best boxing matches ever recorded and will probably not be beaten in a long time
The world stopped when bell rang for the first round at this match, it will never happen again...
Wiele walk jest ciekawych i pełnych emocji , choćby walka Gołota z Bowe.
Agreed. It's up there with Hearns vs Hagler or Castillo Corrales 1
@Gregory Ingram why would Ali have regrets? Its stupid to think that. When a man has the impact on the world that Ali had there are no regrets because you've reached the pinnacle of what it means to be a man. You are a legend.
1:03:54 My favorite part
ALI melhor de todos.
I can still get tears in my eyes after all these years. What a masterclass performance.
Way he stopped his last punch was just respectful...Legend never dies...❤️
“Muhammad Ali has won, Muhammed Ali has won by a knockdown by a knockdown the the thing they say was impossible he’s done” goosebump moment 💯
@Stuart Ryan 2
@TenBroeck we need one now
@Satya Sharma 90
It's knockout not knockdown
Ali would also destroy Ron Lyle who gave George hella tough time.
Nearly 50 years ago yet it still send shivers down my back !!!!!
His hands cant hit what his eyes cant see. Rest in Peace Greatest of all times. The world could need a man like you in these days.
Ali is the man of mental and physical power.
Yo note que esa pelea estaba amarrada galtando 33 segundos antes de terminar la pelea mohamet ali lo hala a su rribal con el brazo y le dice algo y zas se dejo noquear
@cusoon myfriend So you're completely going to ignore his changed stances later on in his life?
Fury was on the ground way longer!!!! Why was Fury able to continue??? It seem like George could of kept going
@cusoon myfriendScience doesn't support the concept of race.Race is a social construct, it only serves to divide us.We are one species, Homosapiens, hominids, great apes. HUMAN.
Love to watch Ali shadow box no one has ever looked better.
My Respect to Ali, he was a borned legend 🙇
Just watched Evander vs Foreman and wanted watch an Ali fight just to see George fight him as well lol. So this the ten year gap they were talking about
24 yr old vs 32 yr old 😆 Ali was just taking it & then he said let's end this
To me, Foreman had the sheer power to rule the division for years. Ali needed pretty much a flawless execution of his game plan to succeed, and because he was Ali, he somehow did it. Greatest sporting event of all time.
Man, Foreman was 40-0 with 37 KOs at this point, and in such a contentious era. He even made short work of Frazier, and then Ali did this to him. Incredible. Goes to show how great Ali was, but also how different styles/strategies bounce off each other. Boxing is like chess, except you're trying to bash each other's face in. lol
@Raylan Givens before foreman who ever knocked out Ken Norton and joe Frazier No one He is the difference maker
@Batty man I doubt he could have beaten Ali in a rematch, at least not by the end of 1975. It was a matter of styles. Besides, who ever knocked Ali out?
If he had rematches foreman he would’ve lost within 5 rounds
It was childs play for Ali, he just kept tagging that head when ever he wanted until it took it's toll and then wacked the hell out his head numerous times... well played and he knew it from the 2nd round on that he had it. just had to stick to his plan.
@Tomáš Kořínek Ali is the greatest. He said so
Ali perfected his skill with joe frazer..and gave it to joe
Watch him after he gets in the ring !
49:36 he bit down on that right hand wooo 🔥🔥🔥
Hands Down... The best performance in a sporting event ever... Considering the times, the way of life, and the expectations, this is tops... RIP, to the Champ...
Because you've seen them all, have you?
Ali was a genius in the ring. Remember, he didn’t take advice from his corner, in training or the fight. He was totally instinctive.
@DJ Woof that doesn’t mean ali was ignoring Dundee the entire fight
@Danstry commentators around 40 min mark saying angelo dundee was yelling at ali to stay away from the ropes. It wasn't his game plan
@J'Hue Casey Lol what are you two talking about, he had Angelo Dundee in his corner who is one of the best coaches of all time
Not instinct. Intelligence. He studied the sport and his opponent and could figure them out better without a coach in his ear who didn't understand the fight game on his level.
i was twelve years and wake up at 4.a.m to watch this match on italian black and white tv. Best memories in my life. Ali was really the greatest. 60 and 70 th years was an unbelievable era with biggest champions in all sports. Lucky to be there
ali is a greatest boxer in history
When Ali sit after 1st round end he said Okay now im like wait a min
Float like a butterfly; Sting like a bee; Rest in Peace; Muhammed Ali
What a bunch of s***
I like that that was a damn good ride brother Sally all the way float like a butterfly sting like a bee rest in peace Muhammad Ali that's all right
Thanks to your excellent poetry.
@Mike Audette not everyone is an Ali fan, but you have to at least admit he was one of the greatest heavyweight fighters and champion we’ll ever see!
"Is that all you got, George?" Seems like it was. One of the most astute display's of boxing IQ and tactics ever seen in the ring.
Ali's boxing IQ was unmatched..
This is the greatest fight ever in the history of boxing 🥊🥊 we will never see such again. Event like this happens once in every millennium.😍🙏
Float's like butterfly 🦋 Sting's like a bee, i miss my favorite boxer, Muhammad Ali ❤️
Watching this again after so many years, I am thinking about how mercurial Ali looked after this fight!
48 yrs later, still the greatest of all time!!!
@Ty Nao Typical nonsense from someone who wasn't even born in the golden era of boxing.
After 213 year's of that fight... he is still the GREATEST ....
@tee ok Tyson beating prime Ali in 2 rounds? That’s just nonsense
@tee george foreman is one of the greatest boxers to exist tbh better than tyson so you obviously you dont know what u are talking about.
Ali wasn't just quick with his hands, he was quick with his words. You see how quick he made Don King change his mood.
I’m not ashamed to say, I was crying after the knockdown when I was 12 yrs old! He was my hero.
ur my hero, mom. i'll always miss you, gregory willis. best mom i ever had
@Jamal Dingle Ali!!
@gregory willis Dude, they were hating on him before VN. That only gave the haters more to say. He spoke up and it was not liked! Remember it was the 60s into the 70s!
@Jamal Dingle Ali. I remember they the media wasn’t giving him any chance to win! They wanted him to lose because of residual Vietnam hate.
Who Ali or foreman ?
There never be another ali... He was even greater outside the ring... The whole world know how he was... Muhammad ali was the greatest and elvis was the king.. They both admire eachother... In this era lived also the greatest in music, accting shows,... Be happy to see these videos.. They are gold nuggets👍🙏
My God, what an incredible inspiration to humanity..I'm so happy to have experienced such a great human, at such great times..Life will never be that way again..I am blessed to have experienced those times.
What amazes me now is the fact that Ali had mercy in the very end when George was falling. What a real sportsman.
Whatever people are saying..... but NOT trowing that final punch shows Ali's greatness
@Cygnus Prime lmao
@Yadro George didn't show mercy for Frazier!! He hit Frazier in the back of his head while Frazier's back was turned..Gets no respect from me..
THIS MESSAGE IS BEAUTIFULchclip.net/video/EqjRLpnGp4M/video.html
J UI’m uU
Such a legendary event. Don King was visibly upset during the match because he was backing Foreman. Ali knew and dissed him hard at the end, wiping that fake smile of Don's face. So many epic moments.
Mohammed Ali, the man of fantastic physical and Mental speed. He is synonymous with Pele, the King of football. Rest in peace, both legends of the Mellinium.
love Forman’s later interview when he spoke about Ali’s trash talk. Foreman said after landing a big shot on Ali, he said “I thought you could punch George. Is that as hard as you can hit?”. Foreman said he thought to himself “Yep. That’s just about it.” Ali is the greatest.186RESPONDER
Foreman golpea muy duro pero no tiene una buena defensa Ali se defiende mejor está mejor entrenado hay se noto pero foreman es un animal Dios 😅
People today have absolutely no idea how great George Forman was ,he obliterated every boxer he came up against and Ali was given no chance in this fight and there was calls for the fight to be binned for the sake of Ali’s health . This was his greatest triumph and cemented him as the greatest heavy weight boxer of all time .
Agree - it's just tragic that Foreman is remembered mostly for this fight. Foreman's career accomplishments are otherworldly - especially for a guy who wasn't the best "technical" boxer out there. Perhaps the most powerful force in boxing history.
@Hemana G wtf are you on about? You werent there. You have no fucking clue about anything.Go back to your cave :P
@Hemana G you're suppose to hurt thr person every round, you just saying that let's me know that I was right. Foreman had ali on the ropes just beating on em, Ali could not stay in front because he got overwhelmed. He did try fighting face to face but ecerytime he got slammed up against those ropes and beat on. You are being very one sided, Ali stuns George but when George takes Ali from one side of the room to the other in a barrage of punches then it means nothing. Ali was sitting there back against the ropes but throwing surprise combos at random to let George know and the crowd that he was still alive and and piss George off enough to start gassing out of anger. If Ali could beat back George then he would have but he couldn't so he had to do something else. Ali was illegally grabbing George by the back of the neck and head as well. I love Ali, everytime I spar I see that poster and never forget. I will not do George foreman dirty, dude was a monster with a monsters resume just the same as Ali and fraizer.
@Hemana G How am I a cry baby for one? Two it's on film so I'm definitely not lying!!
@Khazadurin i was around then and u are a coward and a liar. Blacks, no vote. Blacks, no water or food from certain places. You absolute moron.
I used to watch this fights with my father. He was on his own world enjoying a sport I wasn't capable to understand yet.My father was a very peaceful person but, legend tells he was a pretty good fighter. Legend says he single punched a lot of big guys or fought to the end, never loosing. He surely was a hard man, working hard to put food on the table. He never told me a word about his fights. I respect him so much for that. 30 years later my dad has got Alzheimer too. He call me little boy. He's so peaceful still and in pretty good shape, we keep throwing some hands, every time we do so He hug me like a friend at the end. That's the best feeling in the world.
The best match in history, the match of all ages, Muhammad Ali the legend🌟💫
Watching the actual fight is so different from how I'd always heard about it. The way people talk about it it seemed like Ali just sat back and absorbed punishment for six rounds without getting a hit in until he tired Foreman out, but here it seems like Ali was connecting on way more hits to the head and won some of the early rounds, and only seemed to struggle around the 4th round but even there Foreman was throwing wild punches and missing. People talking like Ali pulled off some gimmick and only won by tiring out Foreman is underselling how Ali looked much sharper and was getting more hits in even from the first seconds of the first roundPeople talk about it like Ali was getting a beating the whole time until George tired out but that's not how it seems at all live. Even the commentators were saying the early rounds were very even and one says at 36:20 that Ali was winning the whole time for him. At 37:20 even in round 5 they say Ali's face is showing no signs of being hit at all, meanwhile they were saying Foreman's face was puffy from the punches even by round 3. The really nasty body hits in round 5 made me wince and Ali was insane for taking that much punishment to his torso, sure, but even in that same round 5 Ali got in a bunch of really hard hits to Foreman's head right after that. Even around the end of round 7 at 47:35 they called it a very even fight, that it'd be hard to tell who'd be up in the score and that it'd only be 1 or 2 difference with Ali probably being ahead, so it wasn't one-sided. Feels like the narrative around the fight shaped it much more than how the actual fight went
Such a great thing to be able to have been here with this man on earth.
Well, Ali said he will drop Foreman in 8 and he did it. Foreman is still all praise for Ali saying that Ali could have punched him when he was falling but did not. Ali never hurt anyone more than he should and in several occasion signalled to referees to stop a fight so he does not have to keep beating anyone. Ali was a sportsman, not a slugger. We may not see another heavyweight like him for ages to come.
Okay I completely âgree eith you
Ali tje greatest
Muhammad Ali is the best boxer
I've watched this fight so often.IMO...the greatest boxing match ever.Facing Foreman in his prime.Ali is The Greatest
Smart strategy by Ali. Even chilling back on the ropes, amazing he took so many body blows. Exhaustion knocked over George as much as Ali's final punch.
It wasn't just 'exhaustion'. Foreman's face was badly marked/puffed up by the time he was knocked out, due to the number of punches Ali had landed. That's why he was exhausted. In contrast, Ali looked like he'd just stepped out of the shower at the end of the fight - there wasn't a single mark on his face.
Ali must have had some INSANE core strength
Ali was the greatest heavyweight fighter ever. He normally fought like a lightweight boxer always bouncing and moving. He also used his head. In this fight he’d studied George’s style so he developed the rope-a-dope to counter George’s power and wear him out. Can still, though I’m now deaf, hear Ali taunting “come on George, is that all you got.”
I’m from Lexington Ky and I will always say Ali owns this state
I watched the fight live on TV in the middle of the night in the UK. I was by turns mystified and terrified by Ali's strategy, but he knew exactly what he was doing. He was a great champion and more importantly, a great man. It was a privilege to witness him fight, in the ring and outside of it.
"Vuelo como mariposa pero pico como avispa": Muhammad Ali. Simplemente el mas grande de todos los tiempos
I was eight years old when I saw this historic fight with my father who was a great boxing follower, two legends in action, but Ali is and still the greatest fighter in history 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Nice unbiased broadcast...David Frost screaming "Careful Ali!!!...Careful!!!" in round 5 when George had his best round pounding Muhammad on the ropes.
Before he died, all his organs stopped, only his heart continued to beat for about 30 minutes. Too much Greatness. Rest In Peace G.O.A.T.
@𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐨𝐦𝐢 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚 I'm
no parkinson took his life span f that disease man im hoping no one will ever go through like that he was my idol i watched his matches its like losing a good coach he was everything to me in boxing
@selecta productions yeah, luckily most don't lol like 90% of the population isn't racist you just think they are because the mainstream media tells you it is
What a fight. What a legend
Unbelievable. Ali took all that pounding in round 5 and still countered effectively. 35:00. Why does Foreman keep punching even when tired instead of pacing himself
A normal human has no idea how much pressure was Ali in this fight
After that loss to Fraizer his career was almost in jeopardy, if he would of lost this fight Ali would of never been considered the greatest
Ali was the greatest
Ali won the match by luck and his amazing resilience! Later, in an interview Foreman said that the reason for his defeat was his overconfidence because before his match against Ali he had trounced Ali' s famous opponents like Joe Frazier ! This over confidence is crystal clear from the upper hand Foreman had through out the match as he is always advancing and Ali fleeing from him; often rope came to the rescue of Ali.But the goddess of Fortune favoured Ali and one unexpected punch Foreman was knocked down! Even his forties Foreman retained his same style and strength and thrilled usin his matches against the great opponents like Evader Holyfield and Tommy Morrison in which he kept on moving forward and the opponents retreating in fear , though they eventually won the matches by points.!
One of the only boxers I would pay my life saving to see in action!
What the hell is David Frost doing there? Fight starts here 21:10
wow so cool guys muhammad ali the goat greatest of all time muhammad aliiiiiiii
Ali avoided the deep waters in middle of ring, also forced Foreman to attack with his shoulders squared up. In doing so he was left vulnerable to Ali’s straight punches, also Foreman prefers to throw hooks, power punches from base. Ali was able to save his legs by rope a dope technique and exposed Foreman’s wide shots. Foreman took some chunks out of his side but Ali was a master at anticipating and absorbing blows. Ali laid the trap and continued to bait the trap by talking smack in his ear. Ali greatly improved his chances by being the overwhelming favourite fighter back in the motherland. If you don’t think that helped him ya don’t kno jack shit about fighting. The grappling on inside also wore down Foreman, left arm behind head, right arm grabbing Foreman’s left elbow or pinning his forearm. The devil is in the details. The physical strength of Ali at this weight is freakish. At times was manhandling forearm when foreman off balance with overshooting shots.also freakish is his ability to take pain.able to absorb wicked body shots to his flanks. Like a shaolin monk he had his iron shirt on. If you’ve never seen When we were Kings” it’s a must watch. To really understand the fight u gotta watch the doc. The crowd willed it
You are smart guy! Totally agree with you
Two brilliant fighters of all time.. George so gracious, in defeat. George is the nicest boxer i have ever heard and the most gracious, he is a true gentleman.. Ali as ever being Ali.. I am sure they had the utmost respect for each other.
@RJ Jaxx You can call Foreman whatever you want, but his results speak for themselves. He may have been a brawler, but he beat Frazier twice, only lost five times in 80 fights, and this was the only time he was ever knocked out. He fought the best fighters and usually came out on top. He did so over four decades. It doesn't matter whether you like his style or not; he is one of the greatest boxers ever. I have him as second to Ali.
Two Brilliant fighters Forman was a HORRIBLE BOXER jus power but he couldn’t fight at all Ali dominated him easily!!!!! This was a walk in the park for Ali!
This is the real boxer in this era, the era of giant fighters, so how do you go through a series of monsters, powerful boxers, unless you retire with your head held high, Muhammad Ali, combining intelligence. . and fighting? Thank you and my life to you. I enjoyed watching all your videos. Don't show opponents your abilities, but stand firm, block punches and your moves, throw bouncing punches to keep points until you defeat the opponent 🙏
„I hated every minute of training. But I said:’Don’t quit.- Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a Champion.’ ” Muhammad Ali
@Dave Hallett I think Ali would have beaten Tyson. The thing about Ali is that he really loved boxing. For him, it was an art. He never rushed into a fight to get it over with as soon as possible. He was into the strategy and the beauty of it. I think he would have figured out Tyson's tricks real fast. Plus, what's often missed about Ali is how tough he was. He could take a punch. Watch his fight with Ernie Shaver. There's no reason he should not have been knocked out multiple times in that one the way he got hit.
@Richard Milliken You are 100% correct.Yes, boxing was extremely corrupt back then. Ali's promoters literally controlled the heavyweight division. No intelligent person believes that Don king would schedule slow white nobody chuck Wepner instead of fighting foreman for the biggest rematch in boxing history, UNLESS of course they feared foreman. And that's EXACTLY why they scheduled slow white nobody chuck Wepner instead.
@Brad rawsner Yes, it is, was incredible that Big George came back 20 years later and won the Heavyweight Boxing title at 45. The George Foreman that destroyed Frazier & Norton was not the same Boxer that fought against Ali. I believe that Foreman's trainer was paid off by the mafia to drug his water, that would cause George to be lethargic and exhausted & heavy-footed before the fight even started. The Ref, Zach Clayton wasn't penalyzing Ali for grabbing behind George's head & neck on a regular basis through-out the fight. The ref only counted to 8, when Foreman was on his feet and there was only 2 seconds left on the clock for the 8th round and the ref never evaluated George's condition. All of these outliers lead me to believe this fight was fixed just like Liston's fights against Clay/ Ali.
@Richard Milliken Look.My only point was that big George comes back at age 45 and wins back the heavyweight title. That alone, puts him near the top all time.
