I made my OWN 2080Ti Waterblock and the results are INSANE!

He gave me so much anxiety when he used a pound of thermal paste on the gpu. All you needed is a pea sized amount. So cringey!!! Triggered!!! Reported and hope you get fired for not knowing how to use thermal paste or even know shit about computers.

reading the title i was actually hoping to see you make the actual waterblock from a copper piece, not adapting a standard cpu one, cool video anyway, this brings back so many memories...
back in the day like 15 years ago i've seen a few people do it on a forum (they mainly constructed cpu block tho).
they used a drill press to excavate 2 pieces of copper, then put holes on one side for the tubes and then solder the 2 pieces.
the more professional ones used a thing called CNC, in italian it means numeric controlled machine, i don't know it's english name but it's a very expensive industrial machine that those people rented for a few hours to do the blocks, it's probably what the big company uses, but in the end the principle was the same as the drill press, the difference is the CNC is controlled by a computer, not your hands, so the work result is very polished.
i used to admire a lot those peoples, some went on to build relatively large italian watercooling companies like ybris-cooling.
they had custom waterblocks of various types, custom reservoirs, custom external waterstations you could build piece by piece with their configurator and they even did a lot of research for the people. like the one about the best way to put fans on your radiator that exstabilished you need an air conveyor to distance the fans a bit and sucking air through the radiator was more efficient than pushing air through it (obviously top results were achieved with fans on both sides that created a current).
unfortunately their shop only sells third party blocks and watercooling material in general now...

can anyone link to a video that goes into detail with what happens when you cool the die's? i would think that you could keep clocking up untill you exit the operating limits of the gpu and yet it seems that being WAY under that gets more performance? that is to say: id think a chip would work at the same clocks at 70C as it would at 10C as 70C is still below its thermal limits of 100C

I know this is a old Video Jay, but you should do another silly video and just make your own cooler again but have the card covered in thermal paste and check the thermals I know its totally unrealistic but it would be interesting.

been looking to water cooling my older cards (GTX 770 classified with no aftermarket blocks) and I've noticed that a lot of the aftermarket GPU watercooling blocks seem to be diagonal to the mounting screws. Why is this when most GPU processors from what I can tell have them squared with the card...

This is cool, I wouldn't call it making your own block, but it is definitely custom. I would call making your own block what Linus did with a CNC on scrapyard wars 2.

EXCELLENT JOB! It turned out VERY professional and I was impressed that you cooled the VRM in addition to the GPU. This looks like a prototype for any actual product going to market. I wish my dad were still around - these are the kind of projects we would have done just for fun together. Thanks for the video.
