Car Camo Stealth Camping

- I found a spot along the side of the highway that was perfect to pull the SUV in for a night of secret camping. I covered the car with hunter's camo cloth and it blended in wonderfully. It was a bit of a noisy campsite, but I got used to it. Camped out in the car I couldn't hear too much traffic.

I think there's a problem somewhere with the CHclip processing. I have got some comments about audio not lining up, but on all the computers here the audio lines up and the original file I uploaded is ok for audio. It seems that not everyone is having the problem. My friend said he had that before and it cleared up but it was a bit of a mystery. I am working on this but hoping it resolves without having to take this down and re-upload it. Cheers everyone and sorry for the audio issues!
It's all good
The audio is good for me love the video's Steve all the best
I just watched on an iPhone and the audio was out of sync.
I am having the issue. The video and audio and not lined up. It’s like 5 seconds off.
I’m going to log out and see if that changes anything.
The audio for me was terrible.
“The trick to looking like you are doing community service work is to look angry” classic Steve and I love it!!!
but why? what is the point of stealth camping for recreation? i would only stealth camp for survival practice
I can see how this plays out if Steve ever gets caught.
Judge: You were caught stealth camping in a car and picking up trash by the side of the road?
Steve: Yes Your Honor.
Judge: Seems you anticipated your punishment beforehand. Time served!
@cagney billingsley For....enjoyment? fulfillment? Fun?
@Boomer Gaming 😂😂😂 This killed me lmao, but that would definitely play out like that in court haha
@Boomer Gaming plot twist, Steve is actually doing community service and decided to make content out of it. anywho love it!
Steve is like, "lets be careful and wrap everything in camo net" - *then proceeds to blast everything with white light at night* 😂
Camo, high vis, and bright light, how’s that for mixed signals?
Been watching for a few years. You helped me through a hard time with depression, no friends no relationships ect. Feels like I’m camping with an old friend. Hope you are doing well Steve we love and support you dearly, from Australia ❤
I hope you're feeling better, Moto. :)
hang in there moto
I can just imagine someone driving down the highway with their window open and catch a whiff of Steve's chicken dinner
During food prep or 30 minutes after consumption?
I love how you leave a place cleaner than when you arrived. If more people would pick up trash (or not leave it there in the first place) our outdoor spaces would be better places. Thank you Steve.
I'm guessing that if you ever did get busted on a stealth camp the person who found you would just be happy to meet the famous camping Steve. Everyone loves this guy.
Don’t think the police would be impressed tho😂. Maybe though?🤷🏼♂️
Not all know Steve though.
Another great episode, I enjoyed hanging out.
Yeah, he's definitely given me some great ideas!
It’s not even illegal to do what he’s doing
I think Steve is the only dude who needs a legit permanent Camo paint job on his cars
but then not even he would be able to find it
or just a bland color, you can always hit the car with some matt clear coat, wont look as bad as repainting.
After doing finals for 15 hours, all I want to do is sit down with food and watch stealth camping. Thanks Steve
Is it me or is Steve WAY too worried about being caught? 😄
Land owners are very protecting of their property especially during hunting season
This spot did look like it would be private property. If I were the land owner and found someone camping on my land I may not be too friendly.
@thepixelcatcherYou Americans are so nervous...
Steve,
I am living at a halfway house @ the moment. I have been at this sober living now for 2 months and I hav 3 months clean as of April 5th. These videos help me deal with the displacement of my living situation. Some night are particularly challenging to endure because of the living conditions and meal options . These videos surely help me cope also feels like I am camping with Steve.
Good job
CONGRATULATIONS!!! 🎉 👏 🎈🥇
Hang in there
It gets better
🙂🙏🏻♾⭐🇨🇦✌
Congrats and hang in there...better days are ahead
You have troubles with living conditions and meal options, but you have a device and service to check and post on this video? Interesting.
@Doug Sholly buddy don't. It's everyone s story dude. You could lose everything you have in a year. Don't insult anyone here.
Hello, Steve! I am a new viewer, and subscriber. :)
You have opened up my eyes to so much knowledge of camping and some really neat experiences in the wild. I know you have had some struggles in the past, but you are doing good and you got this, man! Stay strong Steve, you're my favorite camping CHclipr, I have all of my faith in you! I am so glad to be a part of your community, I feel humbled here.
Really wish every camper was like Steve. Tries his best not to be noticed and always cleans up and leaves it better than he finds it. Thanks for your dedication to CHclip and giving us some entertainment!
Exactly! Ever since the pandemic it seems like the amount of garbage some campers leave behind has tripled
Steve sounds like you used to be a Boy Scout and an eagle scout. How he looks at camping site cleaning up all that stuff and everything that's almost exactly like word-for-word with the Boy Scouts teach you.
Steve's trash pickup is a great lesson for us all. 😊
When I was growing up in the 70’s, our family vacations were usually camping. Before we left a campsite, our dad would have my siblings & me police the area. We picked up so many cigarette butts ( parents didn’t smoke) and pull tabs from beer cans. Dad always wanted to leave a campsite cleaner than we found it
@Josh JABLONICKY "Leave nothing but footprints and take nothing but pictures." And if you're really good, you don't even leave footprints.
The time lapse of the road, the sky, and the stars was just mesmerizing! I watched it in 2160p on a big screen, wonderful! (I watched it last week, just now got around to making the comment.) Enjoyed it!
That was really cool.
I loved the detail of the audio clip of the vehicle passing by just before it turns to dawn! Very powerful.
That's the saddest thing I've heard a man say.
I just realized that an egg vending machine was something I needed in my life. How many of you knew that was a thing?! Steve, love ya man. I so appreciate you.
This guy here NEVER runs out of cool ideas! Thanks Steve. You have one of the most wholesome and REAL channels out there. Best wishes.
I love Steve’s decoy and disguise techniques. Always a good thrill with lots of fun and he always makes me hungry. I hope Steve is doing well.
The "this doesn't look spooky" really got me, Steve! Glad to see you finding mischief and having a good time. Lots of love from Florida! Keep it up.
One of the few channels where no matter the success he’s unchanged from who he is and isn’t afraid to show it...fucking love this guy!
He's my spirit animal.
Agreed; he's like LA Beast
@Jimmy Crackcorn that is a solid spirit animal
@Peter F awww yea thats a good comparison
Steve makes better meals crouched over a tiny butane stove in the woods than I do in the comfort of my home.
I love this channel. I’m too scared to even go camping alone in a normal so I feel like I’m living vicariously through Steve lol
As much as I love watching your videos, and they help me stay calm when times are tough. I always enjoy reading the comments more, because it is so obvious how light-hearted all of your fans are. I hope you know That for every bit of sadness you ever have; you inspire ten times that happiness in your fans lives.
We love you Steve. Glad your still making content.
Your "adventures" are always enjoyable Steve:)
Steve sure knows how to make camping next to a road look fun
camping behind a sign was by far my favorite LOL
I wonder if he took earplugs?💞
I love how you incorporate social responsibility while doing your thing. ❤
Living vicariously through you, Steve. Keep up the great work.
Sometimes, I just don't want the camping trip to end...
Thank you for your calming videos Steve! It means so much, especially when my head is in pure chaos, your videos always seem to calm me down.
That was one of the coolest overnight timelapse shots you've done. The passing lights on the highway looked really cool and moody.
Just seeing that you have posted a video makes me smile. We can all feel your sadness and are walking this journey with you. Jess is missed and we love the stories of you two camping and enjoying your life together.
Welcome back, Steve! Missed ya and your midnight adventures. You have a lot of fans and we really enjoy sharing time with you on these sorties. I am happy to see you back to stealth camping by the highway, lots of fun. When I have a lot on my mind and sometimes trouble sleeping, I find pretend camping along with you very calming and peaceful, and the public forests add the thrill of running away from home... lol. Hope to see you more often, like the gazebo, the rain, and so much forest on the north American highways to explore. Your friends are always here with you, especially now.
Years ago, I moved in with a woman who lived right off a main thoroughfare. I was worried about the noise, but after awhile the traffic just lulled me to sleep. Thanks Steve, for another enjoyable episode. You truly are a good person setting an example for humanity. Dinner looked great!
I’ve got to admit, I’ve never seen so many wonderful seasoning additives available in a tube, that’s efficiency at its best Steve!
I love how anxious Steve is, there is no reason anyone would call the police on him and very few valid reasons the police would talk to him, the amount of time I have been driving through the mountains and saw a car pull off and thought to myself “woah someone is camping there alright keep going” lol no one cares
I'm going through a lonely part in my life and I usually eat my meals with your videos, thanks Steve.
Steve, the amount of people you make happy with these simple camping videos is amazing. Thank you for being you! 😀
Love to see how creative you are with camp out cooking. Always looks tasty, better than some things I cook for myself at home!
update: okay that nighttime time lapse was awesome
Nothing calms the mind like a Steve Wallis' video. I live camping and adventure life vicariously through your channel.
What about the reflectors on your car and headlights at night...? Possible dead give away if the popo is poking around...or driving by
There's something extra calming about seeing somebody stealth camping when the world is still business as usual around them.
I only just started watching Steve, and I've already watch many of his stealth camping, and I feel like there is actually less problem with staying/camping in the places he's going, the only problem is that he makes it look like he's doing some serious crime... this is fun!
Picking up trash in a safety vest is both an amazing thing to do, and brilliant to go completely unnoticed. It's perfect for what you do
A high vis vest and a clipboard get you anywhere. But if you're doing a road pickup, wear gloves too.
Steve's remark about looking angry is spot on too. Never let them think you're enjoying yourself!
We all love you Steve❤. Never stop doing your thing Man!!! Best stealth Camping channel on CHclip by far. Here's to you 🍻 Cheers mate!
That time-lapse is stunning, Steve.
Something to remember Steve is that most people are driving with their heads up their butts and really are not looking for vehicles parked back in the woods
Overnight time-lapse on this one was super cool. Streaks from the cars and the stars visible showing the rotation of the earth. Really fantastic 👌
Hi Steve. My 9 year old Brayden and I watch your videos every week. You brighten our day and we wanted to thank you. When you found the cereal on the side of the road is totally something we would do. It made us laugh. We can't wait to start camping this spring.
There's no one else on CHclip I'll listen to that much road noise for. We love you Steve!
I know, and I can’t imagine camping with that noise!
Agreed. That road noise was harsh. Willing to tolerate it for Steve, but beyond that… 🙉
You’d hope that Sony or GoPro would/could develop a road noise filter for Steve.
What?! I find it extremely relaxing...
Steve.... your videos never get old. Love what you do. Me and my kids look forward to your adventures.
Never thought my favorite videos would be if someone sleeping in they car in the forest but here we are 😂 I love em. Also much respect for cleaning up the areas you stay at, that’s awesome
Hi Steve just wanted to say really enjoy your videos 📹 😊 you remind me of myself a man who appreciates the little things and I like to watch your adventures, lastly probably doesn't mean much from a total stranger but sorry for your loss I know what it's like loosing someone and there aren't words so yeah my condolences, look forward to seeing your new videos ✌️✌️
The trick to looking like you’re doing community service is to look angry while you’re doing it - that just got you 1000 subs Steve!
Gotta say I just happened upon this channel the other day. Like a lot of other viewers my first video was the roundabout one. The CHclip algorithm normally leads me to good content but this channel is a GEM! Thanks for the great content and good vibes Steve
Yeah, the roundabout one was my first too. In 2 days I've watched about 8 of his vids!
What's better than a Thursday? A Thursday when a new Steve Wallis video drops!
True story!
That's the truth
Frick yeah!
Thanks so much!
honest truth!
Pretty confident either way, but it's absolutely wild seeing you camping in a spot that's practically a stones throw away from my house, on a highway I take for work! Love the vids, can't wait to watch more
I have nothing great to say, just that you’re an inspiration in more ways than you can ever imagine, keep going, keep smashing it and keep being you
Love the time lapse :) If you fold a little rock into the corners of a tarp or sheet, and tie it in place, it'll act as a weight on the corners and help hold them in place. On tarps with
Hi Steve. It’s great to see you back on you tube. I sincerely hope you are well because I believe you have been missed. Your videos are always great to watch and a good source of inspiration for adventures. Stay well my friend.
Thank you for the kind words
Yep, I've missed Steve a lot. This is one of my favorite channels and I hope you are doing ok Steve. I can't wait for my next camping trip!
Hey he gave you a heart because you complimented him. he's an inspiration to us all.
just randomly found your channel today Steve. What a fantastic find. Great content and you seem a sterling man. Stay strong champ.
Told my fiancé you’ve inspired me to start stealth camping. Thinking I’m gonna have plenty of time now since she’s not talking about the wedding as much.
With any luck you might be off the hook. 😉Good luck
Oh man that's good.🤣
😂
funny!
If she won't come stealth camping with you she might not be the one.
Really entertaining video Steve. You did a great job of covering up the car. Thank you and Stay Safe.
Steve, your videos put a smile on my face. I’m going through a hard time, but know it’ll get better, and your videos definitely fill the void. Thank you
Steve, I've been binging a few of your videos over the last few weeks and I am really digging them! Your camping food looks better than my home meals! These adventures make me really want to get camping too. As a kid my family used to go tent rustic camping in our great state of Michigan's parks on the lake. They were great times. Unfortunately my husband isn't interested at all, the closest he's ever been to camping is when the pool at the Ramada was closed. I will be satisfied for now by living vicariously through you doing crazy things like blanket fort and stealth camping.
Can I make a suggestion? I always wonder what will go down if you ever get busted by the side of the road. Sometimes you tell us your cover story, like when you did the ferry terminal camp, but not always. I'd like to hear what your cover story will be for instance in this case. Like if a cop were to find you out and start questioning you. It would be fun to hear if you were going to be a bird watcher, documentation, or something else weird or creative. Just for giggles.
Keep having adventures! We love them! 🎉
Remember folks, no camp fire.
Things are getting tough all over. This is more of an instructional guide than a CHclip novelty.
Watching these videos to end my night is the most relaxing thing to end my day. Keep up the good work!
Steve is to outside what Mr. Rogers is to insides. Thanks for continuing to bring us joy Steve!
Thank you for taking us with you, Steve!
You’re the man, Steve. Thanks for all you do!
Really like your videos. They are a really great combination of relaxing, unique spots and style.
I wonder how those lenticular "invisibility shields" would work for stealth camping. They're pretty short but could probably help to obscure a small tent or tarp shelter or something. Especially if you combine it with camo netting.
Hi Steve, how are you? I haven’t camped a lot but I’m wanting to do more, just feeling peace and contentment each day is all I could ever ask for in life :)
If anything can cheer you up, it's when steve uploads no matter what he does.
Thank you for the endless of hours you use for us
The food quality certainly has gone up tho!
Absolutely loved your description of Community Service! I live on a main road, but wow that road was noisy. Stay safe and keep filming 😀
I'm really enjoying watching your videos Steve always looking forward to them each week your doing a fantastic job keep up the great work mate
Hello Steve, glad to see you stealth camping again!
Wow, wow, wow. That nighttime timelapse was absolutely gorgeous.
Your like the Bob Ross of the camping world!
I love how steve always looks around nervously and puts on disguises even though he is just parking on the side of the highway, making himself even more suspicious than if he would just act normal.
When I was a kid I wanted to be a spy, let this man be a spy.
All part of the"Camping with Steve" Lore!
Always the case, Steve makes himself more obvious by doing the things that he thinks makes him less obvious.
@Nu Gundam please tell me you've seen the one where him and crazy neighbor set up a construction site and played drill and hammer sounds through a speaker... that shit is priceless!
Indeed, the fun fact is anybody who "catches" him will likely be a fan and brought a step-2 for a sit down.
This is #29 trending as I watch this, good job Steve!
❤. Good to see you getting back out and doing what you love. Please take good care of yourself, and keep doing what you need to do to get through each day.
Looking forward to many more videos from you.
I love this stuff and thank you Steve 😊
Also the positivity in the comments is absolutely wonderful ❤️
I think it's awesome how you do something risky but apply a good deed, like picking up garbage. Appreciate it!
I really enjoy watching the time lapses in Steve’s videos, and this one was one of the coolest so far. Also I love the drone footage!
How many of you like me now point out / look out for cool spots like this to stealth camp. Even without actually camping, it’s cool to imagine the possibilities. Thanks for the inspiration Steve!
It never hurts to dream!!☺️
I started looking and have found tons of spots!
I do this all the time. I see spots and think “wish Steve could camp there “
I do all the time!
Steve, another great video! I have some catching up to do, as I haven't seen the last few months of videos! I turned on the auto-captions for this video, and in some instances, the road noise is interpreted as "[Applause]" So the next time you have a roadside stealth camp, remember it's all of us enjoying it!
Hi Steve. I just wanted to say how much peace you've brought to my life after many a rough day. Especially in a time in which content creators are incentivized to keep us angry and divided, it is such a breath of fresh air to turn on a channel like yours just to watch a kind dude keeping young at heart and sharing his love for the outdoors. Some nights I just pull the plug on social media, chuck the phone aside, lay down on the coach, and doze off peacefully to one of your videos. Humans are pretty awesome, despite the very small portion of people profiting off of us thinking otherwise. I also wanted to share my condolences about your recent loss. Like so many of us I am sure, we have struggled with the idea of saying anything at all, because we know there are no words that can take your pain away. I don't know how to heal such wounds or advice to give in such situations, so I'll just say what I do know: we appreciate you, we love you, and we are here for you however we can be. - Brett (Plymouth, Michigan)
great video as usual. Love those drone shots too. nice to see how the area looks like from birds view .
I just discovered you on CHclip. Been watching your videos for about a week. I love watching how you Stealth camp. But mostly that you seem to enjoy it. Great job. Thank you for sharing this with us.
A tip you may already have thought of, but I didn't see in this video is to put a pack of basic fridge magnets on your bag with the camo covers. They'll help hold the cover in place on your car or other metal surfaces.
As if he wasn't already, Steve is making the world a better place by picking up litter, little by little. We appreciate you Steve.
Repent to Jesus Christ “for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.””

@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ Amen
That camo netting is perfect. You just need more of it.
10:30 always nice to get a little behind the scenes action
With all that camo no one would ever notice while driving by at 100 klicks. A perfect spot despite the hwy noise. :) Thanks a million Steve!
Awesome video as always Steve! I missed the car videos and that timelapse was really cool. The food looked especially good in this video 😋as for the audio issue, I did experience issues on my phone but once I switched to my laptop, it worked fine so that might work for other people too!
Steve, you can get magnetic hooks (a donut shaped magnet with a hook attached) from the hardware store. You could use these to secure your camo netting to the car, and also attach lines and such to the hooks as well
I first started watching Steve because I was interested in the whacky places he'd camp in. Now I watch cause Steve is such a nice and likeable guy! I wanna share a step 2 with him
He is so likeable, just love him. You rock Steve!
Just discovered this channel and already loving it! And sorry for your loss mate 😕 much love from the UK 👍
Another fun 22 minutes with stealthy Steve.
Our family loves watching your adventures. You have inspired our family to try camping this summer for the first time. Thanks for the inspiration and looking forward to your future endeavors.
Always the stealth camping genius. Enjoyed the video.
