@Warmonger8891 YT I said it in a post before: insurances in Germany are not nearly as expensive as in US. The most you pay for health insurance is up to 260€ (there are exceptions like self-employment but even those would not go above 500€). My car insurance is 500€/year and the one for household effects is around 100€/year. A former colleague of mine right now is very happy that she has a liability insurance for household effects. There was water damage in her flat due to mistakes made while someone repaired the heater. Now till that is repaired the flat is not livable anymore. Of course that is not her fault at all and the insurance of her landlord has to pay for most of that. BUT the landlord would only have to give her the most basics while the repairs are ongoing (a place to sleep(= could be the still okay kitchen) and some place to relieve herself (=could be a emergency toilette outside)) But because she has her own insurance she can get a hotel for the time the repairs are ongoing. And whatever the landlords insurance doesn't cover (because she realized the problem a bit late and especially how damaged her furniture were was not clear until they emptied the flat) her own insurance covers now. Basically her insurance talked with the landlords insurance and while the landlords insurance covers most and her own insurance now pays for half the storage fee and half for the furniture replacements as well as the hotel fee. If she hadn't had her own insurance she probably would have been scammed by her landlords insurance. Like this she just had to tell her own insurance about the problem and provide pictures and one appointment to check the damage in person. Now she just has to lean back and wait till everything is done. And I think having that for less than 100€/year is pretty good. (Of course you still should be careful and check out if one insurance says that the other insurance liable for something.)
@Claire Koke with out wanting to be offending this is bonkers to me, grew up in a lower class household, single mother with 2 kids that was longtime unemployed throughout the financial crisis. But we always hat private liability insurance, legal insurance, health insurance(including dental care), unemployment insurance and a building insurance that comes with the rental apartment. And think this is really the basic insurance package that most people have, once you get to middle and upper class people be having insurances you never even heard off
@Claire Koke The type of legal insurance that employers provide tends to be limited to cases like traffic incidents rather than non-work related lawsuits. Still, a nice perk to have.
@free2 legal insurance is becoming more common for employers to offer in the US which is really nice, they only cover certain things though, but my bf has it and gets all his tickets dismissed and stuff because he has his lawyer take care of it and pays $5 a month to his job for it. Only bigger companies are doing that though,
@DinocoSparrow in the US liability insurance usually refers to a type of car insurance but I’m pretty sure businesses can also have a type of liability insurance,
Relocated from Germany to Japan since my Liability insurance does not cover here, I cancelled it. Now every day is a thrill and with an extra kick of adrenaline.
I went through my whole life only having insurances when it was required for a travel, though quite some of them were more of a signed paper than anything else. Now, I've been living in Germany for almost a year, and while most of those things sound quite ridiculous, the main mandatory ones are actually quite an interesting concept. I loved the liability one, cause I'm renting a room, so technically just about anything I may break is somebody else's stuff 😜
- good luck reading non germans hehehehe
@theRPGmasterThe thing is, the insurance companies also know that huge damages are unlikely, so if you pick a reasonable deductible (I chose €1000), it's very affordable. I'm paying €19/year, and still get the peace of mind that I won't ever go broke from an accident. Covers everyone else in my household as well. To be fair, I only got it because it's mandatory for flying a drone here, but honestly, it's not a bad deal either way.
@theRPGmaster anyway I don't hang out with people who own astronomically expensive stuff. Only thing I can think of is dropping someone's laptop, and even then I'd rather save up 1-2K over a couple months and repay them than pay 50$ per month for life "just in case"
@KidErkwon Exactly. The chance that I accidentally destroy something astronomically expensive is so unlikely. In that case I'd just take the punishment, I've got better things to do with my money than paying for more insurance.
@sergel02 much lower than 90%. Also, not all insurance is created equally. There are people who have insurance(albeit a bad plan) and still have to file bankruptcy because their insurance plan doesn't cover very much. It is a horrific system.
@Francisco Noyola once month of a US premium is probably more than an entire year of the various German insurances. And it still won't cover a bunch of costs. It's criminal.
@sergel02 no, government does not provide Healthcare, everything is private, if you work for a good company you pay anywhere from 200 to 400 dollars for a family of four but if your employer does not provide any insurance or you're self employed then expect to pay 1 thousand to 2 thousand dollars monthly for family Healthcare insurance
It is one of my very favorites now. She is doing such an amazing job. She is creative, intelligent, empathic, beautiful inside & out. She said she thought she was not thin enough in her past to do something like this. Which I hope all these awesome people have made her see that she is an amazing human!!! Three languages is just so admirable. She is totally fluent in English, then is even taking language school in Germany. This channel makes me smile so many times.
I'm half German and I bought a pair of Bluetooth earphones some time ago, the cashier asked me if I wanted to add insurance and I was like "nah I don't need it thanks" and she audibly gasped 💀
@KidErkwon break a sink, or run your bike into a parked car and lemme know if you could afford the damages you had to pay Besides, wouldn't it make you feel good if you accidentally drop your friends phone into water and now they get a new phone for free (normally you pay ~40€ a year for the insurance) Or you step on their new expensive flattening iron, or ruin their rug, or any other small oopsie If you know you just have to tell your insurance about it and they'll cover it and your friend can replace the item, that's a really good feeling! Another huge cost I just thought of, you're out with your friends jumping into water, having fun etc You push your friend into the water, or accidentally hit their head with your foot, they get injured to the point of not being able to work for a long time, massive hospital and caretaker bills, etc 40 bucks a year and you dont have to pay for any of that.
@Sb 747 If there is a lot of damage, in the end *someone* has to pay for it. So let's stay with the first example, assume you were at a friend's house and knocked over a candle and his house burned down and he didn't have insurance to cover it - even if you couldn't be forced to pay for it (not checking), or even if he didn't blame you because it was just an accident - would you feel good knowing that you accidentally ruined *his* life?
@KidErkwon just for example, you might accidentally burn down a building by knocking over a candle. Or you could run into someone while jogging and they fall and break their hand and become unable to work for a long time. Or you forget that your guest is allergic to peanuts. Or you could lose your keys which also include work keys, and the workplace has to swap out a large number of locks. There are endless ways in which anyone can cause a lot more damage than they can afford to fix. It happens rarely which is why private non-vehicle Haftpflichtversicherung is actually affordable (I pay about 40€ per year).
I have been married to a German too long, both of these things gave me anxiety. What if you had to get Döner, because there was no table... 😯 I made my hubby feel alive by only arriving to the train station just on time, with the announcement running overhead and no seat reservations... But now he changed me.
That's a real big problem with my bf, he's Israeli and his mentality is being 1h late is still on time, he prefers going to the train station and even airport at the last moment possible, I insist we do it my way now because I might have a nervous breakdown if I have to go through this again.
ill tell u the truth You are an amazing person to spend time together and funny makes people very happy and good at make jokes about nation without offonse
When I saw this video the first time I just laughed but then I went out with my friends not too long ago and the birthday girl wanted to go to this really fancy restaurant a restaurant that you had to book a table for having them tell you that no we don't have any seats there's a wedding going on after she planned this supposedly for 6 months straight I understand the Daredevil comment I get it when you do get the table when it is a possibility they'll turn you away it is most definitely exciting but it is also embarrassing when they turn you away
You legit just reminded me that I have had no Haftpflichtversicherung for the last 2 weeks so thanks a lot for reminding me before I completely got on the schiefe Bahn!
Oh, you would got a heart attack if you meet me or one of the most of my friends :D But exact this "Maybe I could change him" is a typical woman's thing. Why are you attracted to something what you want to change later? Why? :D
Depends on the restaurant, granted I have never eaten at anything more upscale than what I assume is a chain steakhouse. However if you tell them to give you separate checks they will in my experience. They will even split the appetizer if you just got one to share. Maybe actual fine dining experiences differ here in the states.
@JuMixBoox in the US you can't even ask for individual bills, the waiters just default to "one table one bill" and they let you fight. shit is archaic
I really cherish you both. It's just a few seconds each video, but you make my day better. I'm planning to move to Germany soon, and amid all the economic mess going on and evryone talking about it, you guys are the only ones who give me some positivity. Thank you so much 🤍
I can confirm, when the mom of a friend heard I have no liability insurance she almost fainted and immediately set me up for a consultation with her insurance person. 🤣
I'm not German but have lived in DE long enough to break out in a nervous sweat just imagining a "no reservation" date. My "go with the flow" kiwi compatriots would be disappointed in me. I can't help it, I'm a Gerwi now (German-Kiwi). 😁
I just adore how you two invest in each other’s cultures, the way you pronounced that insurance sounded *exactly* like the native speakers I’ve heard speaking german
well the haftpflichtversicherung is as the name suggests an insurance you have to have. if you want to have a car youre legally forced to get one. its like saying someone is weird for not wanting to go to jail.
Reminds me of the old joke: A bride and groom are walking down the aisle of the church on their wedding day. The groom is thinking “I love this woman so much, I hope she never changes.” The bride is walking beside him thinking “I love this guy so much, I wonder how long it will take me to change him.”
"Maybe I could change him" 😂😂😂 had me rolling dead on the floor... if that makes any sense. But seriously, are you even a woman if you have never said that?? 😂😂 I think we may have an answer to the "what is a woman" question. A person who thinks they can change their partner for the better.
Side tangent; It always amazes me when parties of guests come into the restaurant I work at without a reservation and with 10+ people in their party. It’s a busy place and even a two hour heads up is advisable to ensure your party will have a table for you. Especially on a Friday or Saturday night, or any other peak rush time at a restaurant. You really can’t get upset with the staff for not having a party table open and ready for you to be sat immediately when you didn’t make a reservation. Pro tip, google the restaurant, see what the hours of operation are, check if they accept reservations, check their peak business rush hours and check if they offer large party seatings. ALWAYS call and cancel your reservation as soon as you know that you won’t be coming in for it. Time and table real estate is money in sit-down restaurants. The way reservations work behind the scenes (for those who have not worked in one) is the staff plans where you will be sat for the time slot you chose, they will NOT seat that table usually up to an hour before your designated arrival and an hour+ after your arrival. Your table would be assigned to a waiter/waitress/server and that server won’t be given tables around the time you’re supposed to arrive so they can give you the attention and good service quality. Be polite, cancel your reservation if you aren’t coming in please 😊
Honestly this makes me really want to talk with someone about what life is like in Germany when you have ADHD 😅 (speaking myself as someone with ADHD in the UK. There's certainly..hurdles here, I'm curious about folks interactions with culture there)
Haftpflichtversicherung is liability insurance. Almost everyone in Germany has it, among with 500 other insurances 😂

@Nam Nguyễn ùi mình xem video chị ấy cả tuần nay ms thấy có cmt Việt, zui thế chứ :))
As a German I can confirm this. I don’t know how many insurances I have it’s crazy. Even my dog has one!
Ủa chị ơi cho em hỏi tại sao không đặt bàn nhà hàng trc là mạo hiểm vs liều lĩnh vậy ạ?
As a German, even thinking about not having a Haftpflichtversicherung is getting my adrenaline skyrocketing :D
@Claire Koke with out wanting to be offending this is bonkers to me, grew up in a lower class household, single mother with 2 kids that was longtime unemployed throughout the financial crisis. All the girls with daddy issues
This always puzzles me: why go out with someone you want to change?
And then they will get dumped. And after a while she will chose a normal guy instead of a bad boy to create her family
What if he is a Nazi
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The fact that I gasped about the insurance shows the accuracy.
Me too, what kind of psychopath doesn't have Haftpflichtversicherung???
Relocated from Germany to Japan since my Liability insurance does not cover here, I cancelled it.

@Leahchu55
@Mihail Milev Yep, Millenials :) and perpetually online!
@Leahchu55 ohhh ok I didn't get what I meant by "us" lol. What generation r u btw? Gen x, Millenial?
Saaaame, we laugh a lot at these 😂
DITTO! 🤩
Meanwhile in America, "He has health insurance, how responsible."
@sergel02 much lower than 90%. Also, not all insurance is created equally. There are people who have insurance(albeit a bad plan) and still have to file bankruptcy because their insurance plan doesn't cover very much. It is a horrific system.
In America more like “He can afford health insurance, lucky jackass!”

True, it is so entertaining
'What a daredevil'

I understood that reference
😅😅😅
We all think we can “change him” 😭😭
If i were the friend i would give a chop to the head. Stupidest idea one can have.
@Glossy Sparklesinfluencer 😂
Change yourselves first bitches
@andresweet it was just a joke, why so serious
@vimana architects I’m curious now 😂. what job does he have?
These wigs are so cute!!
Thank you for sharing your fun and clever mind with us!!😊
As a German I‘m impressed how all your vids are so SPOT-ON! It’s like you captured all of us Germans perfectly… the good the bad… I love it! 😂
Off topic but like that pink wig looks so good!
Yes, she is always cute but she really popped in this pink 🤩
Funnily enough, I have the exact same wig. Looks dreadful on me, glad it works for other peeps :')
@R Shad so true!
I think both wigs look good on her
It's adorable on her!
I'm half German and I bought a pair of Bluetooth earphones some time ago, the cashier asked me if I wanted to add insurance and I was like "nah I don't need it thanks" and she audibly gasped 💀
@KidErkwon break a sink, or run your bike into a parked car and lemme know if you could afford the damages you had to pay
Besides, wouldn't it make you feel good if you accidentally drop your friends phone into water and now they get a new phone for free (normally you pay ~40€ a year for the insurance)
Or you step on their new expensive flattening iron, or ruin their rug, or any other small oopsie

@MedoFortyTwo wow and they call Americans litigious. Besides maybe the personal injury you couldn’t be forced to pay for any of that other stuff here.
Also, smashing things because you're angry is not accidental, so it wouldn't be covered anyway.
@KidErkwon just for example, you might accidentally burn down a building by knocking over a candle. Or you could run into someone while jogging and they fall and break their hand and become unable to work for a long time. Or you forget that your guest is allergic to peanuts. "...dating him makes me feel so alive! Maybe I could change him... " 😂
@ABC XYZ you are very good. spit the point. Woooow.
wattpad stories lolo
Ikr ? Makes no sense. Like contradictory.
Doesn't it mean that when she finally changes him, will she feel ...dead? 👀😂
I have been married to a German too long, both of these things gave me anxiety. What if you had to get Döner, because there was no table... 😯
I made my hubby feel alive by only arriving to the train station just on time, with the announcement running overhead and no seat reservations... But now he changed me.
Hey now, my husband and I plan Döner Dates. 🤣 Döner is delicious.
That's a real big problem with my bf, he's Israeli and his mentality is being 1h late is still on time, he prefers going to the train station and even airport at the last moment possible, I insist we do it my way now because I might have a nervous breakdown if I have to go through this again.
@KidErkwon it's a type of kebab made with döner so similar to both but considered as a kebab
@Bilge Özmek Döner Kebab is different from Kebab or from Döner?
@H. Celine they are literally two different food like what the hell
This is HILARIOUS 😂😂😂
I need more of these!!! Cracking up
😂
On a completely different note..........
You totally slayed both wigs😎😎😎
Okay but can we talk about how much you slay with blonde hair?? Looks so good on you!

You look so good in both of the wigs 🤣
I'm not sure why CHclip recommended this to me but I don’t regret watching this at all🤭
She really immersed herself in German culture. Her jokes are excellent
Maybe I can change him 😂 It's so relevant 🤣
Pink hair looks amazing on you!! ❤❤
You legit just reminded me that I have had no Haftpflichtversicherung for the last 2 weeks so thanks a lot for reminding me before I completely got on the schiefe Bahn!
@KathLady Being on the schiefe Bahn is not the yellow of the egg.
Oh no, not the schiefe Bahn!!!

The pink wig looks so good on youuuu
I have to seriously consider getting liability insurance 😅 didn't knew these exist.
Saying “haftflichtversicherung” is fun. Now I want to learn German to say many more interesting kinds of words. This made my mouth happy. 😂
Such a long word with so many letters but she says it so fast I think the amount of letters could be reduced
Your sense of humour hits my sweet spot every time. Funny lady ❤❤😅
German bad boys today:
German bad boys in the 40s:⛽🧃

The pink hair is so cute on you!!
Meanwhile in America… we have duct tape and the Bible instead of insurance.
"Not even Haftpflichtversicherung?"🤣☠️

Hands down! HANDS DOWN! This woman is the funniest person on CHclip! Kills me every time!
Oh, you would got a heart attack if you meet me or one of the most of my friends :D But exact this "Maybe I could change him" is a typical woman's thing. Why are you attracted to something what you want to change later? Why? :D
You look so pretty with pink hair!! ❤
And then he suggested to pay for whole meal instead of splitting the bill, and she was knocked out
@KidErkwon No, I've been to restaurants where I came with a group & paid for my own meal.
@JuMixBoox No, I've been to restaurants where I've paid for my own meal & I came as a group.

@Peter Metzger I agree that it feels great to pay for someone or have someone pay for you!
Went to my kid’s German culture night, and it started at 5. I was in line for food at 4:30, and SO WAS EVERYONE ELSE. Lol
Dude, if he doesn't even have a Haftpflichtversicherung he's lost and you can't change him. RED FLAG, RUN GIRL!!!
Well, he didn't have to book the table, he just threw a towel on it.
Wait that works when there's even no water in a radius of 50 feat near by?!!
😂😂😂
Lol
LMAO
... at 6:30 am, to secure the spot.
That shows you how much he appreciates you!

Sounds like a dream boat
🤣😂🤣😂
Brilliant! The fact that you make this kind of fun about germans shows me that you're living quite some time with us. 😉😄👌
I'm crying with laughter. I needed this tonight. You've made my day so much better. 😊
Omg I love that wig. The pink hair with bangs looks super good on you. Makes me want to colour and cut my hair.
IKR, she is amazingly beautiful inside & out! I think it totally looks gorgeous on her!
Man that blonde wig goes hard on you.
I don’t even know anything about German cultural norms, but your delivery of the jokes made me laugh.
Now youhave an ida of our culture lol
I'm not German but have lived in DE long enough to break out in a nervous sweat just imagining a "no reservation" date.
My "go with the flow" kiwi compatriots would be disappointed in me. I can't help it, I'm a Gerwi now (German-Kiwi). 😁
Well, life is about change wkwk
@Son Of Meme I thought of that. But opted for the other version as it sounds more Like a new gerbil/hamster breed.☺️
Ki-Man
I gotta say, that blonde wig REALLY suits you and brings out your eyes even more.
I thought you would say he only invest in bitcoin LOL
I’ve been binge watching these and they’re dead ass accurate 😅😅😅😅 thank you I haven’t laughed this much in a while!!!
Haftpflichtversicherung is mandatory. Not having one equals driving an illegal/unregistered car >:|
I know its tempting to try to change him, but if he doesnt see the value of a Haftpflichtversicherung I am afraid he is too far gone :(
Agree. Reckless, but not in a good way.
Alright, you've convinced me. I need a German husband.
She unironically look really good in those wigs
I do not have words that describe my adoration for you and your channel.
You are absolutely hilarious and sublime.
I just adore how you two invest in each other’s cultures, the way you pronounced that insurance sounded *exactly* like the native speakers I’ve heard speaking german
You look great with pink and blond hair!
well the haftpflichtversicherung is as the name suggests an insurance you have to have. if you want to have a car youre legally forced to get one. its like saying someone is weird for not wanting to go to jail.
only country where they consider buying the additional product warranty
Reminds me of the old joke:
A bride and groom are walking down the aisle of the church on their wedding day. The groom is thinking “I love this woman so much, I hope she never changes.” The bride is walking beside him thinking “I love this guy so much, I wonder how long it will take me to change him.”
Sounds like a boring stereotype lmao why wouldn't you want your partner to change their "unhealthy" sides? Or change everything? Both wrong 💀
Both are unhealthy mindsets.
@М К U kidding?
Because women are perfect to begin with. Only through marriage they turn into hags
@Mereen I am the female Shiva and I multiply to change every man in the Universe
This has me laughing out loud before work. Thank you for a great start to my day.
"Maybe I could change him"
😂😂😂 had me rolling dead on the floor... if that makes any sense.
But seriously, are you even a woman if you have never said that?? 😂😂
I think we may have an answer to the "what is a woman" question. A person who thinks they can change their partner for the better.
Then we would have 100% women in the governing coalition of the Bundestag.
This is so hilarious! She really captures it! Hahaha!
Why do I feel like I’m the only person who never reserves tables, if there’s no table available, I just go to another place
Same
Side tangent; It always amazes me when parties of guests come into the restaurant I work at without a reservation and with 10+ people in their party.
Your videos are so humorous and wholesome! Wonderful endeavour :)
My dad once quit our liability insurance for a few weeks. Scariest time of my life

does she ever tiktok about anything else other than her german boyfriend? seems like her tiktok "career" is a bit overly dependant on him.
Honestly this makes me really want to talk with someone about what life is like in Germany when you have ADHD 😅 (speaking myself as someone with ADHD in the UK. There's certainly..hurdles here, I'm curious about folks interactions with culture there)
That one goddamn "Maybe I could change him"💀

This is hilarious on so many levels. But most of all the ‘maybe I can change him’ 💀 😂
You got me totally at "haftpflichtversicherung" - had to giggle about your accent the whole morning!
