Planning on buying a BMW? These are some of the tools that I use most frequently when working on my car bit.ly/2Hcp2cE
Hi Justin, i know your video is ‘bout two years old but i hope still can get a reply from you: I’m planning on buying a 2013 535i RWD Sport Package and it’s just flawless all the way around, in and out, every single button, light & detail on the car works perfectly fine, it has 60 K miles but it runs like nothing, very well maintained car but, just as an opinion, how expensive you think it could be for me from now and during the next couple years?
BMW = Break My Wallet
Justin Buice ,I am planning to buy BMW 3 series 2016 model with 35000 miles on it,i am getting a deal of 15900$ with a clear carfax & 1 owner as per the dealer, Don't you think it's cheaper than the actual depreciation, what is your comment on this deal?
Justin Buice appreciate that buddy
@SouthEast Wink 202 I don't have personal experience with the 7 series, so I don't know of any specific problems. But I know that the 7 series from that generation has a reputation of being one of the least reliable cars that BMW has made. I would never buy one. It might seem like a good price. But if the reviews are true, I think you will get killed with the repair costs in the long run.
I think that this is a Great video, I am looking at a 2006 BMW 760 LI V12 with 106000 miles and the passenger side coils are out. Do you have any general advise for this car in general as it pertains to service issues ?
Hey I’m Thinking about buying a used BMW this week it’s a 2014 320 I it has 80,000 miles on it what should I expect it looks like almost perfect condition please contact me back and give me your advice
Hey I wish I could help but I dont have any experience with the 2014 320i
Really appreciate this video because I’m excited about getting my first luxury car even though it’s used the cost to maintain is important and this video opens my mind to creating a car maintenance savings account... I’m getting the 2007 bmw 750li thanks
I want to buy a 318i e90 facelift (2008) what do you recomend? Its ok? Or it better to go for diesel? Ooor 320i 325i?
Man.....I had a 2008 Z4 3.0si and this guy is SPOT ON in his info and recommendations. That THIN rubberized coating on parts of the interior was a joke! At 8 years old, you could just take your thumbnail and lightly rub it and it would come off like a wedge of ice cream. BMW's are fun as hell but the ownership experience is a joke!
DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO
Cool. You’re from Michigan!
you are so calming to listen to
I have a 2006 E90 but I still prefer my 98 Toyota 4 Runner 😃
Getting a car with low mileage has multiple benefits. First, less wear and tear means better reliability and less servicing costs. Second your car value will hold stronger if you keep the mileage down so you get a better return later on resale. Finally, low mileage also means someone probably took care of the car, not driving hard or long distances between services and delaying service. The only disadvantage to look out for is on diesels, they need to get up to fast speeds occasionally to burn off particles in the engine. But its easy to do that just by doing a run on the expressway or motorway. Also, always see if there are receipts for service history, you'll see how well someone took care of the car for sure.
If I'm buying from a dealer, I shouldn't have too many problems right??
@Justin Buice yeah it's a 2007 328i from some used dealer in Chicago
If it’s a BMW dealer it’s probably been inspected. Any other dealership won’t know what to look for. I bought mine from a different dealership and they barely knew how to turn it on.
Hi , I have a question for you . I'm looking for a 6 series and would you buy the older model or the new one lie 2010 or 2012 ??? Some say the older is going to be easier on maintenance specially the engine . What say thee ??? Thank you ...
Which is wiser to buy, diesel or petrol?
I'll stick with my VW Golf
Here in uk reliability my son had 2 320 d bms one had 3 alternators(one on fire!)2 front pulleys plus belts the other ignition fault $800 water pump and many have thrown / snapped chains chains jumped off pully so BEWARE
Justin you were spot on perfect advice! Thank you. Do you have a video explaining how to fix the sagging interior on the inside hood. I could really use your help.
If you mean the headliner, then you can buy special stickpins designed for interiors. The pins are clear plastic, sell for a few dollars per pack (about 20 pins). Push the pins into the headliner, then twist by hand until tight. These pins appall my granddaughter, but they work. To replace your headliner, take off all the molding around the headliner. Peel off the cloth and glue on new cloth. The cost for the headliner repair might be $500 if done professionally. There are videos for headliners.
I stay in Michigan also.....what size are your rim's and do you run snow tires
Justin, my last 2 BMW's cost me alot in repairs (2004 X5 4.8 and 2007 535i Twin Turbo) I've owned driven 7 so far and planning to look at a 2008 750i, is there anything I should know about this model? The 5 that I've owned were very good cars my favorite all time was 1975 2002 and 1987 635csi L6.
Great honest review thanks
Hi Recently I saw a 530xi 2007 the car looks good and everything but I really care about the engine and it's almost 10 years old it's got 'bout 100k miles on it I don't know if I should buy it I mean the price is fair enough but what you guys think? Is it too much risk?
Thanks for the info.. which bmw 3 series model is most reliable?
DONT BUY BMW!!!!!!! They are designed to break down. There are forums that tell you exactly when DOWN TO THE MILEAGE that these particular parts are going to breakdown. BMW’s side hustle is selling replacement parts for the shit that breaks down, oh and big surprise it’s always expensive af!!! Buy a Toyota or a Lexus!!!
best advice, I recommend buying a toyota highlander because my mom's 2008 toyota highlander has 190k miles and it is still going strong
Toyota makes good trucks.
Lol if they did “RESEARCH” as you claim they would know not to buy a used bmw.😂
Thanks for these good advices. Gasket leaking is a problem for BMW, careful for the stains of engine oil.
Thanks helpful looking at a 528 i 2010
I had a325 biggest piece of shit ever.
most part of the time the problem with a BMW is between the driver seat and the steering wheel.......
Very good explanation¡
Great Video, I just bought a 2015 X1, It has 47,000 miles. It does not have the indash computer. Just a straight automatic. What should I do to keep the car from needing expensive repairs? I never thought about repair costs before purchase. The car is still under full BMW warranty until June of 2020. I plan to take it in for a full going over before the end of warranty. What are the things I should insist BMW do to the car. You seem to really know what you are talking about on CHclip. I will look forward to hearing back from you. Thank You for your time.
Im thinking about getting a 2006-2008 750 or 760. What are your opinion on those cars?
Hey lil peep
Thank you - very good advice.
How come are recomending how to check if you are not expert, did you saw another video to make this one? I Am a mechanic of bmw and the things you say is very superfiscial not expert you did this based on expidia maybe
Hey good advice but I don't know if someone mentioned but I always take a car on the highway. Most people forget to test drive above 50 miles per hour. I know lots of vehicles I would have gotten screwed on if I didn't take them on the highway. Also drive them till they are hot, some troubles don't show until the vehicle is hot.
Get a veloster turbo.. its tight and nice inside and out..
Okay that made me decide not to buy a BMW.
Hi.I'm planning on getting a BMW 328i 2009 or the X3 2007 model. Kindly advise on which of the two is a better ride for roads that have a lot of potholes. Thanks.
Too Legit To Quit Thanks.
baffaty23 x3 obviously
Hello Justin, awesome video, i’m thinking of buying a 2015 428i , how many miles should i go for? And is there any bad thing about the series 4?
Here in Brazil we have few BWM, they are quite expensive, even buying used. Due to the high value of the car, I am researching a lot before purchasing one. I am looking for a second hand sedan, something between 2010 and 2012 my biggest concern is the durability of the car.I had VW Golf from older generations, Toyota Corola, Honda Civic, which despite having their problems the mechanics are extremely sturdy, the Corola and Civic easily run 500,000 km (approximately 311.000,000 miles, when measuring distance from you). without any mechanical problems, leaks or anything, just basic maintenance, fluids, brakes, shock absorbers. They are cars that do not break, are not auto mechanics, they are very resistant to motor and gear.As I said, I started researching a sedan, I was frightened by how much negative feedback from customers of that company. This here in Brazil we have few running and with much complaint. That's when I decided to look for information from other countries where there are more BWM's running. That's when I really got scared. Hard that I love this car, the design, its lines are very beautiful, really would like to have a sedan of them.I understand English well to read, but to hear with the speed, the slang, is very complicated. I tried to use the automatic translation of the videos, but they get pretty meaningless, complicated to understand.I am trying to get in touch with the people I understand to see if they can give me a light and say which BMW models are not the headache, the ones that are the most durable, the ones that don't break. I think they must have some line, model, series, year of manufacture that they can build good cars and that's one of those I'm looking for.Can you help me with information from the best years / models, finally, something that goes on for many, many years without a headache? Would you have any or a few models to point me to BMW's durable or unbreakable sedans? My biggest concern, as I said, is the durability of the vehicle. If you can help me, I'd be very grateful.Thank you very much, a big hug from my friend from Brazil.
Better yet don't buy a Bmer unless a full warranty comes with it
This guy is Peter Parker friendly neighbourhood spider man..
BMW = Bavarian Motor Works 🇩🇪
Bought a 2013 X5 35i as my first BMW and also first ever car. Very proud!
thank you sir it was so helpfull .
Glad i could help!
Re watched it a good 3 times😀
Mine only came with one key! Ugh.
These are all great points and really. Any used car you buy, these tips can work for. Except the service notifications, not available on many other non luxury cars.
