The amount of strength that man has to have from his arms down; especially in his stomach and legs is just awesome!! Pure superman insanity to skate that fast on ice!! This is a very underrated record, Kjeld just broke!! Well done sir!
@Work yeah, true. First, I thought it was only to reduce aerodynamic drag. They also scrape the ice. Technically, it's double cheating, no air resistance, pre-conditioning, "warming up", the surface.
@Vesa-Matti Loiri its outside. Not an ice skating rink. They cant guarantee that the ice is perfectly clear of any tiny obstruction. They dont go and inspect miles and miles of ice for any objects at all for this. They probably go over the ice to make sure any larger objects are cleared but if he fell, he would more than likely get cut up really bad by tiny imperfections in the ice.
@Vesa-Matti Loiri yup now I know you can't even read right, go and get some text interpretation skills going to help you a lot in your life. Don't bother responding to me anymore...
Literally had never contemplated so many of the things on display in this video (Ice-skating speed records, eliminating wind resistance, driving on a lake 100 kmph, lakes this large being completely froze to allow this, skating so fast you could really hurt yourself).
@J F Find me a video of the same guy reaching the same speeds without a giant windshield in front of him and I'll accept I'm wrong. In the meantime, calm down.
@Ian Moone technically he assumed the guy wasn't a sprinter / he assumed that sprinters would be faster. I get what you're saying so maybe we're both wrong
Without the shield, once you reach like 50km/h or so half of the energy you spend is actually counteracting air resistance, it would be much worse at 100km/h, so yeah it really does :c
Aaww. I started roller skating again as an adult and was doing okay, but when a kind person reminded me to bend my knees, suddanly I was able to do everything again 😂
Notice how whenever one of these badass athletes break a record their support staff is just as excited for them. That’s the type of support you need regardless of what you do in life
@Mi1287t5f I see what you mean. I agree a 103kph wind front and back would cancel out. And give the rider zero help... apart from zero wind resistance. The only force moving him is his own strength though. To determine max humanly possible speed... constantly... it's important to remove the variable of wind resistance. Because wind resistance changes based on air temp and wind speed.
@Paul Gregory but if you had 103kph wind at your back there would be zero wind resistance at your front once you hit 103kph. It is exactly the same. Your bike is feeling the resistance on its front. Thats not the same comparison.
@Mi1287t5f That's ridiculous! 😂 The screen at the front simply prevents the air at the front from hitting him at 103kmh. There is NO wind from the back. If there was an effect where the wind pushed him from behind at 103kmh.. he would not have needed to skate under his own energy. 🤔. Likewise, when I ride my motorbike at 103kmh... and crouch behind the screen... there is also no wind pushing me behind either!!
Those of you who think this is dangerous, I fell off my motorcycle at 105mph. I was scratched up, broken toe, but good. This guy is fine as long as he doesn't *hit* anything.
@Cmdr Kiillerjoy I read a novel about a decade ago, about financing the first mission to Mars using content with ad sponsors. They make a reality show out of the astronauts' lives, like a handful of Mark Whatley's
That's soooo fast! Amazing! People don't realise how much this guy is risking his life. If something went wrong, his limbs would break right off and end up everywhere.
@Smokkedandslammed well, it is its own category of record I suppose. It's just finding the fastest possible speed an ice skater can travel over ice on human power alone, but with external assistances. No different to weightlifters natural or steroid users etc. You are right though it does feel a little cheap, but it's an interesting answer to a question though. Albeit a question very few people have asked or care to know. But here we are 🤷
I believe this is the solution to mass long-distance transit. We build tunnels underground. Ice them using heat pumps. Then simply shield the vehicles from air. The shield can be significantly lighter than the vehicles, and so take much less energy to accelerate.
@Soggy Biscotti no that was not me bro. im the one who said it wasnt that serious and thats it. go back and check again. anyways its all good and have a good gn
He didn't hit 100 as he fell way behind after 96, so the vehicle hit 100 but the skater stayed at 96 at best until the vehicle slowed back down and he managed to grab the rail
@a b 100% if my local drug dealer was advertising to children and selling it in public shops And paying other children to use it and calling it a sponsorship Hmmmmmm your not as smart as you think big dog
@Mac Jeffer I personally would care about it, but if I saw someone talking the way you do and bullying them for literally no reason, definitely. If you want to be proud of eating 5 Twinkies then don't let anyone stop you. And to make it even easier for you: There's going to be people like me, defending you.
@Leon Heinrich Leon, thank you for your thoughtful response, and you are right, I may not be able to ice skate as well as this absolute nobody, however to your point, it’s not special, but there is a world record for how many Twinkies you can eat it 5 minutes, so let’s say I accomplished that record, would you defend my honor as much as this completely equally worthless ice skating moron ?
Come on. No air resistance, the enclosure likely even creating forward suction. Almost no friction. The only baffling thing is why people take such risks for a meaningless record.
"Thanks for the likes"- bruh you literally repeated what TWO other comments said days before you lol. The internet is rotting our brains- repeating what others said just to get an ego boost from the "internet points". Coooool.
@MAG1CKS I can't explain it in detail but from what I know they would let him change the record if it did which just implies it doesn't create one. Not only that but he's inside there more than he is out it's kinda just a shield type thing. all i know is that the wind isn't creating a slipstream
@Logan Huckabey Can you explain to me the physics of this and why there is no slipstream effect on this? I´m really curious to know is it because of the chamber-like shape of the wind shield that don´t create slipstream or is the point of the effect further back and if it is then how far back?
Physics teachers after saying ignore air resistance:
@INiko there's no such thing goober
Brother... He is protected by the shield
@Stephen Hurd when u do physics u dont count air resistance wth are u saying
Nah bro frrr🤣🤣 every time
This how my dad went for schools in early 80s
How my boss thinks I'm getting to work after an ice storm.
@Wholesome Lad cringe
@Federation of Breadcringe
@Michael H Liked it just to spite you 👍
I want feel ice storm, i never have it 😐
@Michael H you must be the dumb boss
The amount of strength that man has to have from his arms down; especially in his stomach and legs is just awesome!! Pure superman insanity to skate that fast on ice!! This is a very underrated record, Kjeld just broke!! Well done sir!
One pebble, one pebble on that lake is the price for a liveleak watermark, respect is off the charts for this guy
It's almost like a multi billion dollar company was out there helping him stay safe or something...
Pebbles don't float so unlikely to be on a lakes surface.
They should make it so the fromt of the air resistance shield has some sort of scraper that toucher the ice, and directs FOD around the structure.
@Work yeah, true. First, I thought it was only to reduce aerodynamic drag. They also scrape the ice. Technically, it's double cheating, no air resistance, pre-conditioning, "warming up", the surface.
@Igor Anisimov that's why they have that bigass shield in front of him to scrape pebbles away🤦
red bull gives you wings? naw it gives those thighs DAYUM
🤣🤣🤣
Fact
the absolute hype and support that guy behind the mic transmits is so heartwarming
Legend ❣️
@Mark Stefan Domondonthat’s the entire point yes
He gained speed because of the absence of wind pressure.
So true 💯 👌
@Kyle Gotherwise I believe he made the world record,
The strength and determination it takes to do this is off the charts
これはすごい命懸けだな。勇気とそれを支える技術に万歳\(^_^)/
Да
도전 한다는것 자체로도 인간의 한계를 뛰어넘는거네 대박이다 진짜 존나 멋지다
And here I’m am over here cheering him on snuggled in my fuzzy blanket. Makes me feel like I should be out breaking records😂 maybe tomorrow
@Red Bull 😅😅😅
we'll check back in on you tomorrow - which record are we breaking? 😉
This deserves a ton of respect. The chances of a a fatality when skating at even half of this speed is still insanely high…
@Nyx Wolve ah yes because you were there and saw they didnt check
@Vesa-Matti Loiri its outside. Not an ice skating rink. They cant guarantee that the ice is perfectly clear of any tiny obstruction. They dont go and inspect miles and miles of ice for any objects at all for this. They probably go over the ice to make sure any larger objects are cleared but if he fell, he would more than likely get cut up really bad by tiny imperfections in the ice.
@Death Inquisitor cope
@Vesa-Matti Loiri yup now I know you can't even read right, go and get some text interpretation skills going to help you a lot in your life. Don't bother responding to me anymore...
@Death Inquisitor hahah i just noticed you said earlier that on water it would be safer. Wrong about that too.
Wish I had a hype man like that
One of those, "look how far we've come," moments.
I've been here 60 years, and I'm still not bored
Barely half 30 and am tired of almost everything
There’s absolutely nothing that I can’t afford
That is INSANE! Amazing to watch!
Drafting the truck for the ol "shake n bake"
Shake n bake baby you got it Ricky
Slingshot Engage
Skate and bake baby
He is cheating
I read that as "skate n bake" lol.
Literally had never contemplated so many of the things on display in this video (Ice-skating speed records, eliminating wind resistance, driving on a lake 100 kmph, lakes this large being completely froze to allow this, skating so fast you could really hurt yourself).
Ого! Я бы не смог 103 км/ч проехать на коньках! Респект!
When Arnold Schwarzenegger gets interested in skating...
I’ve never ice skated before, but I feel like going 64 mph wouldn’t be that hard with a spot that big
This actually looks like so much fun to be moving that fast using your own two feet. Air resistance is really holding us back
Technically, if there was no resistance, we could just keep adding momentum regardless of how weak or strong we were.
@Dave Smith the only reason people move their legs somewhat fast when ice skating is so they can turn
The fact that he's skating that fast on natural formed ice is inSane!! One unseen crack or bump and it would've ended in a quick way 👏
Insane! Doing those kind of speed… there literally no room for any area…
I tried ice skating once and after being told to just “bend my knees” by about 9 people I decided it wasn’t for me
Did you try bending your knees?
patriot
Aaww. I started roller skating again as an adult and was doing okay, but when a kind person reminded me to bend my knees, suddanly I was able to do everything again 😂
I tried it and just got bored of the simplicity, idk but it's just no fun for me.
it’s all about leg/ankle stability and balance. especially stability, if ur locking ur ankles and flexing ur legs it’s a lot harder.
As someone who does speed skating I can say that this would be very difficult
Notice how whenever one of these badass athletes break a record their support staff is just as excited for them. That’s the type of support you need regardless of what you do in life
How do I find a job like thst
당신의 말에 진심 동감이에요. 저렇게 응원하는 친구가 곁에 하나라도 있다면 모두의 인생이 행복할거라고 생각해요. 지구인들 모두 행복한 2023년이 되길 빕니다
Someone yelling next to me while I do the dishes:
Crusty forks! dried cereal! BAKED ON CHEESE!!! Wooooo!
👍👍😎
It’s always ok to support.
This makes me wonder how fast someone could run, with a similar setup that lessens air resistance.
Kjeld is a monster. 3x gold Olympic,4 z gold world champion and many many more
That is amazing good job that's legendary
Imagine what he could do on freshly zamboni’d ice. Looks like he had frost and chunks from the truck to contend with.
That’s what our psychics teacher meant “with no air resistance”
yeah if u remove air resistance and also surface resistance I'll bet I'll also go faster than him 😝
@Mi1287t5f I see what you mean.

Likewise, when I ride my motorbike at 103kmh... and crouch behind the screen... there is also no wind pushing me behind either!!
@joppe hollmann u missed the point.
Just imagine how that would feel against your body. Even with the wind shield
There was a very nice elderly speed skater at my old rink. I miss him
Those of you who think this is dangerous, I fell off my motorcycle at 105mph. I was scratched up, broken toe, but good. This guy is fine as long as he doesn't *hit* anything.
not to devalue this amazing feat of athletisism but I wonder what the unassisted world record is
Now he's the fastest man alive ⚡
The fact that this record was broken like a year ago and someone now posting a video about it is just insane
Bro took “I can run faster without the wind resistance” a little too literally
How is he going that fast! 🤯
I'm convinced that the first man on Mars will be wearing a RedBull jump suit
I’m gonna make this happen. I love your username by the way
God I hope so😂
Nah most likely a Space X Elon suit
You conviction is based on delusional goals.
@Cmdr Kiillerjoy I read a novel about a decade ago, about financing the first mission to Mars using content with ad sponsors. They make a reality show out of the astronauts' lives, like a handful of Mark Whatley's
That’s not a windshield, that’s there to contain his power
Now having the wind shield, doesn't that actually provide pull riding in the slipstream?
I would love to have seen that pick-up perform an emergency brake test!!!!🤣😀👍
He's experiencing what's like to be Shadow the Hedgehog :D
Your not wrong that is exactly how he runs or glides I guess
Imagine casually ice fishing on the lake one day and seeing this guy speed past you at over 100 km/h
That’s what, 23 mph? It’s a joke people. Just relax.
@MrConfusedRabbit thank you :3
@syabill I know, but it would be possible if you had wind in your favor.
100kmph is only 62 miles per hour
@Not Gothamchess 80-90 is still a crazy speed
Truly Amazing!!! 😮
Gotta wonder if that wind block creates a vacuum assisting and pushing? Impressive none the less if 100km/h is true.
That's soooo fast! Amazing! People don't realise how much this guy is risking his life. If something went wrong, his limbs would break right off and end up everywhere.
That thing on his front is for prevent from the dense air to hit him with the high speed and break any bones
For those who can’t convert, guy hit around 63mph. That’s fast for a person
Probably didn't even feel like he was going that fast lol. No wind resistance has gotta trick your senses a bit, what a unique feeling to imagine
Probably like if you were skating on a tread mill if that were possible. Especially with the back of the car right in his face.
@brayz game as long as we all learned something for the day, you may be excused 😀
But here we are 🤷
@THE PSYCHIC PEACH exactly like this 👌
@stevenrs11 ahah good point 👉
空力がいかに大事か分かる動画
When you get that Mario Kart drafting boost IRL.
Way he drifted to the left a bit at the end, I was expecting him to be erased by the 100km wind resistance he opted out of with the tent trailer.
Реально круто 👍🔥
As an ice skater I can only imagine how crazy that felt. I’d love to skate on a huge lake like that someday
@gothic dance crumps if water level rises, there would actually be more fishing...
@Mark Washington in other words he's cheating. Might as well get pulled by a rope.
@Terry Blackwell 😂😭💀
@Roy Vdh fr man, I'm worried about the future of fishing :(
global warming is destroying hobbies like this😢
I believe this is the solution to mass long-distance transit. We build tunnels underground. Ice them using heat pumps. Then simply shield the vehicles from air. The shield can be significantly lighter than the vehicles, and so take much less energy to accelerate.
HOW DID HE EVEN GO SO FAST
Makes my dream of being the flash one step closer to being real
Imagine if Usain Bolt could skate 😮
There's a man who does not skip leg day.
@Soggy Biscotti Years of daily training, still built like a girl lol
Probably me
@Mini Whiffy3 and we have another moron of the week. **applause**
@Soggy Biscotti no wind resistance genius
@Soggy Biscotti no that was not me bro. im the one who said it wasnt that serious and thats it. go back and check again. anyways its all good and have a good gn
That’s insane and incredibly dangerous
103 kph equals 64 mph
(for those of us that know how to measure)
Imagine driving down the bypass and this guy is skiing past you
It’s time to let Connor Mcdavid beat this world record now, he will do it instantly! 😅
Love the genuine excitement in the radio chatter’s voice. Dude’s fully alive.
@BTS_TOOK_MY_HEART💜 Y’all, I’m blowing up. See you in next year’s CHclip Rewind!
It's all the Redbull he's been drinking
100th like
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😐😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😑😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Frfrfrfrfr
He didn't hit 100 as he fell way behind after 96, so the vehicle hit 100 but the skater stayed at 96 at best until the vehicle slowed back down and he managed to grab the rail
Must feel good going that fast
But he had zero win resistance fighting him to go that fast
Wow! This is awesome!!!
RedBull always pushing the limits. I love this
@a b 100% if my local drug dealer was advertising to children and selling it in public shops
And paying other children to use it and calling it a sponsorship
Hmmmmmm your not as smart as you think big dog
@Mac Jeffer I personally would care about it, but if I saw someone talking the way you do and bullying them for literally no reason, definitely. @Ace your hole if your kids are doing drugs who you gonna blame the drug dealer?
@Ace your hole yea 100% if your kids are on Herion I would definitely be blaming the parents
The camera man can run so fast
Wind breaking eventually gonna put you on unexpexted speed
Amazing 🔥
Kudos to the camera man who was running to get this cool shot.
Cameraman skating backwards against wind resistance with steady cam... He's the real champ 🏆
@SeansGotJuice I know. And I'm like "yeah right 😒😄" I know he's kidding. Thank you. 😌
@Kristina J it's a joke
I think the wide angle pov is even more crazy, guy's skating SIDEWAYS!
foreal!! the real record holder😂😂
@Kristina J it’s a joke
Тем временем бабушка в России 200к/м и без каких защитных устройств катается по Байкалу :)
imagine going highway speeds on just your 2 feet
Damn. Wonder what the human body can do on a bicycle if we ignored air resistance in this same way
Can he beat the record without his training wheels on?
Respect cameraman running over 90km/h and still holing the camera stable. mad respect
@a namer here LOl what in the whooshiddy whoosh whoosh
@Mo Dee 🤓
Being a cameraman is way harder than ppl think. Running 90km/h is no joke
@Mo Dee He's right, My name is Car. I'm the man the camera was mounted on.
@Tinche 🤓
It’s impressive doing 60 on ice skates
Have u ever wondered if u broke the record if you’d try to go as far as you can to try and shatter it 🤔
The ultimate swiftness potion. Or when I ride a boat on ice in minecraft
I enjoy ice skating fast when i can and when ive gone, there's just not enough space to go super fast and there's people
Bro took “I can run faster with no wind resistance” literally
@N0t_The_Plague_Doctor yeah tbh it sounded like you were a child on the internet 💀
@Gipel The Commenter I know, I was joking too. Reading it back, it doesn't sound like that but yeah I'm joking.
@N0t_The_Plague_Doctor the person was referencing a song, hence the quotes
@Mark Benedict about 63 miles an hour.
Let us then see. Test
leave it to the dutch to put such an insane record on ice skates
they can't play hockey though
I swear if I was driving the truck I would've been so tempted to slam the breaks💀
He hooks his arms on the bar to keep up with the car. As soon as he stops he begins to slow down and back away from the car
103km damn what a beast
Props to the cameraman for running the same speed, sideways without a windshield
@Dark Lord Rocky no camera either
facing the skater
Underrated comment
No skates either
But if there is no air resistance, he’s not really skating at 100km/h?
Come on. No air resistance, the enclosure likely even creating forward suction. Almost no friction.
The only baffling thing is why people take such risks for a meaningless record.
Dude sounds like Captain price yelling at you through the radio.
His hype man definitely made a few more numbers happen lol
When the physics teacher tells you to ignore air resistance:
Edit:thanks for the likes
We don't like " You" just the copypaste words.
@Tejesh Manyamhe said the same thing someone commented days ago...
"Thanks for the likes"- bruh you literally repeated what TWO other comments said days before you lol. The internet is rotting our brains- repeating what others said just to get an ego boost from the "internet points". Coooool.
@Zelliop [That moment when you correct someone for being wrong on the internet, but are yourself wrong on the internet]
@Awareqwx Diamondepliers trying to be smart by saying random stuff they learnt off the internet
(talking to the other comments not the one above me)
This is awesome!!!
Cameraman always sets the world record
Amazing dude.
I can cycle 200 kmh on my road bike without any wind resistance
you can see the difficulty increase as his stride speed increases. Thats absolutely amazing.
@MAG1CKS I can't explain it in detail but from what I know they would let him change the record if it did which just implies it doesn't create one. Not only that but he's inside there more than he is out it's kinda just a shield type thing. all i know is that the wind isn't creating a slipstream

I´m really curious to know is it because of the chamber-like shape of the wind shield that don´t create slipstream or is the point of the effect further back and if it is then how far back?
its called slipstream
@azshulay _ that's not how that works but good job 👍🏼
That's just called out of shape. He's drifting behind the truck. It's literally pulling him to that speed 😆
