This is why we always need to push against goonies like this. No matter what you do, if they could pay you less they would. This is what it use to be for all workers and slowly we got things like minimum wage and days off. Never stop, they have more to give than we could ever know.
Edit: And also why we need to be *thankful* to those who came before and sacrificed so we have our own heated homes with all the amenities once only reserved for royalty. We have come far and we must never become complacent ❤️✊🏼

    • K Ate
      K Ate Před 21 dnem

@John Gleason As we're white and live in Western countries we won't go through the same human right issues so in that sense you're very right. You're right that yes if you are born the right colour and religion you will not face any human right issues but God forbid if you're a minority in any Western country we'll make sure you feel like you don't belong so what if you're born here! You will need to deal with underhanded racism that will make your life very difficult but at least in Western countries we hide our human rights issues very well. You are very right John we're not stupid like the Middle East we hide our issues very well, deep within. We'll become leaders by force commit some of the worst acts and act like it's perfectly normal.
Look if we can excuse our Prince being a pervert and our countries breaking down due to all the corruption within we have no right to comment on other countries.
Can we just concentrate on sorting our 💩 out first please?

    • John Gleason
      John Gleason Před 21 dnem

@K Ate if you’re trying to compare modern western countries to the Middle East then you are gonna lose this argument very quickly. The West May have had major human rights issues 60 years ago but we aren’t talking about 60 years ago since they’ve corrected it. The Middle East and much of the world still lives in Medieval times where they kill for being gay or steal your passport and force you to work as a slave.

Freedom of speech depends on your race in the west similar to all countries in the world. I mean the amount of articles and interviews I have seen plus experiences I have seen people suffer, for example how the UK reacted to Ukraine and said things like we have to help because they look like us or have light eyes/blond hair or look European. I mean definitely help I'm not disputing that if able you should help where you can, we alll should. However, not due to the way the people look plus what about offering the same help and making just as big of a deal with others from other countries who UK and US have attacked and caused issues for such as Iraq.
Clearly Qatar like many other countries have the issues. In fact no country is remotely even close to perfect.
Qatar as shown has major issues with the locals letting their wealth, authority and power get to their heads whilst forgetting their religion that encourages them to be kind and good to all humans.
The west is not without issues to. I've seen it with my eyes how minorities are bullied and treated, I mean Islamaphobia has been going on for so long it's crazy that it's only now been given a name. Some of the racism and human inequalities are just more tactical in the west because the west has learnt to deflect and be undercover unfortunately. I say unfortunately because I am from the west and it does need to be better along with all the world. Therefore, we can't advise others when we have so many institutionally inhumane, racist, gender, culture, powertrip issues to.

@Morpheus That's ignorance as far as I'm concerned. Excuse the language. 60 Minutes is one of the most important shows on TV ever, anywhere. It changed investigative reporting. It is being studied at news and media schools. Yes, it's not edgy as Vice News and maybe it's gone a little "soft" but it's still important. You cannot dismiss this show like that.

Yeah, 60 Minutes is a very "important" show because they only wait like 5 years to do an episode on something that was very important 5 years ago, but today it'll have no consequences on the people that should have fried for it, and even if anyone cares about it today, they can't do a fucking thing about it.

It's ironic that he brings up the One Love armbands, as a few days before the tournament kicked off Qatar & FIFA backed out of that agreement too, saying that anyone wearing a rainbow armband at kickoff would be instantly shown a yellow card. (For those not aware, a yellow card is a 'caution' offense in football. A punishment mostly reserved for misconduct or aggressive play. 2 yellows results in getting ejected from the game. Thus, having a yellow card for the entire 90 minutes of the match is extremely dangerous and puts your team at risk of going down a player.) Now that we are at the semifinals of this tournament, not a single One Love Armband has been worn or seen on TV. What a shame.

Are those who survived these conditions and actually got paid happy they came home ? I hope for them they did but that wasn't the case for every one, many lost their lives building these stadiums and hotels, more so than any other cup before.

@Spider-ling Irrelevant again. If no country is innocent because they gave a kid a papercut, then America is the most guilty for having killed the kid in the first place. Not only that, America's crimes are ongoing and unlike other countries, it didn't pay reparations.
China has not committed Uyghur genocide as your western conspiracy theory states, and in fact not a single dead body has been found from this so called "genocide".
So again, claiming that no country is innocent is irrelevant when the USA not only doesn't pay for it's crimes, but it continues to commit them. America is objectively several times more racist as western studies themselves have shown, and women are abused far less in Muslim countries. But it doesn't matter because you still don't seem to understand what I've said many times already. It doesn't matter how good of a life one gets in the USA because it's all based on plunder and genocide of a continent, something that most countries haven't actually done. So yeah, most countries actually ARE innocent, it's just the USA that is guilty.
