My grandpa died in 1980 at age 88, embracing us all at his deathbed. He asked us not to mourn his death but celebrate his life. From that day I believe in the JOY of true Christian death. And I live for that day when My God will call me Home to enjoy eternity with HIM in Heaven.

we have a saying in Afrikaans (my home language) which goes: "Die waarheid maak seer".
Roughly translated this means that the truth hurts.
Hearing the truth this loud and clear made a lot of things so preciously clear to me this morning. Yes, it is hard to hear that your secret sins, your actions, your words, even your body language can either hurt or raise someone up to greater heights with God. But, overall, its good to hear that I MATTER.
No matter what my skills are, or the lack thereof, I MATTER to God in His infinite plan for us.
    I matter.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but has eternal life. Jesus said that wide is the gate and broad is the path that leads to destruction but narrow is the path and difficult is the way that leads to eternal life and few find it. Mmm. Such a big world and many have lived but Jesus said few find eternal life. I will tell you why. It is because so many people are practicing religion instead of actually acknowledging their sin before God and truly believing in Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins. So many people profess faith in Jesus Christ but yet they are still trying to work for salvation which God says is a free gift and that you cannot earn it.

Sir Wolfenstein Reveli now you’re calling me a liar. That’s wrong. You’re not god and you don’t decide on who has the Holy Ghost upon them.
You need to start thinking logically. But you gotta be honest with yourself. You need to humble yourself to realize that you’re view is wrong. I bet you haven’t even stepped in a Catholic Church. That’s not fair way to judge. Again unlike you I went to Protestant churches and studied Protestant theology.
I will pray for you as well. God bless.

I agree with everything he said until he starts talking about how a person becomes saved (born again) (reconciled to God) (forgiven of all your sins). Salvation comes by faith only. Catholics teach that if you live a good life you go to heaven. If you follow the Catholic dogma and rules you are going to heaven. Jesus said that no one is good but God. Jesus said you have to be perfect to go to heaven. The Bible says that if you have ever sinned even once you will be judged by God and sent to hell. Trying to erase away all your sins by doing good is opposite of what Jesus said. It’s like trying to tell a judge don’t punish me for my crime because I have done all these other things that were good. If God judges you according to what you have done you will be found guilty according to Gods standard of perfection. Hell is not going to be boring. Hell is going to be torment forever. Only the ones that own their sin and guilt and bring it to God by faith and ask him for forgiveness and by faith believe their sins are forgiven because of what Jesus has done for us and not because what we have done will truly have their sins forgiven. If you trust false teachings that tell you if you follow these rules you get to go to heaven is a lie. You must first believe in Jesus as lord first before you can do anything that pleases God. Jesus said the flesh profits nothing but the spirit gives birth to spirit. You have to be born again first and that comes by faith in Jesus Christ. It’s believing the truth of Jesus Christ that gives you eternal life. Good deeds are great but they will not profit you anything before God because your righteousness is a filthy rag before God as was prophesied in Izaiah. Jesus said no one is good but God. Jesus said many people will say to me on the day of judgment Lord Lord did we not prophesy in your name and cast out demons in your name and do great and mighty works in your name.

@The View Was Worth the Climb wow from calling me ignorant to stating something completely different then what I said, to calling the old organization in world evil. This is exactly the reason why there is 40,000 different doctrines of the "protesters" like yourself. You think you have an idea of the doctrine, but you have taken all of it out of context. The only reason you have the NT is because of the catholic church. And if you believe in anything your bible says in the NT then you believe in the AUTHORITY of THE ONLY HOLY APOSTOLIC CATHOLIC CHURCH.
"If good works could save you then Jesus had no need to die on a cross"
-Mounting up with wings as eagles
none said that besides you. good works cannot save you. but here you are twisting up what someone else said to make your statement valid. (I wont go back into this discussion since you blatantly ignored what I said, ill just disprove your next statement down below.
      enjoy..
In the bible it says they(priests) have the power "through Jesus Christ" to take away sins/possessions. Nowhere does it say the priest alone can do that nor did anyone state that, but you..(again). But your blindness wont accept that fact that instead you took the bible out of context like most heretics do.
      Acts 8
5 Philip (Priest) went down to a city of Samar′ia, and proclaimed to them the Christ. 6 And the multitudes with one accord gave heed to what was said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs which he did. 7 For UNCLEAN SPIRITS came out of many who were POSSESSED, crying with a loud voice; and many who were paralyzed or lame were HEALED.
Philip was doing all those things like the modern day priests do!! THROUGH CHRIST!!!
But you decided to mention the church and the priests being like the magician in acts who was Simon who said he was something "great by himself".
please stop taking the bible out of context,. bud.
and instead of regurgitating everything "bad" you hear about catholics, around the table of other heretics, maybe ask yourself why is it the only standing church since the beginning.
and the best part is just like any other heretic you did not have a good enough answer to what I told you about in my first comment, you take on another form of discussion which again you took out of context and were proven wrong.
Don't come and listen to catholic priests speak and then think you know better. Go find your false teachers and leave the church of Jesus Christ alone.
God bless you, and I hope you find your way home some day.

@nikola brnada Your good works are a filthy rag to God. That’s why James said if you have kept the whole law but stumble in one point you are guilty of all. We have all stumbled and fallen short of the glory of God and the wages for our sin is death. If good works could save you then Jesus had no need to die on a cross. That’s why Jesus told people that apart from Him we can do nothing. Jesus wasn’t certainly saying that apart from him you can do nothing good because there are a lot of people that do good every day apart from Jesus. That’s not what Jesus was referring to. What Jesus was referring to was the abiding in Him and bearing fruit that can only come by abiding in Him. It’s through the Holy Spirit that someone can bear fruit. Doing good is not bearing fruit in Jesus. Paul warned of false prophets that he said would come after him and “have a form of godliness but deny the power of God.” Jesus told his disciples that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came on them and that they needed to wait for the Holy Spirit in the upper room. If you read the book of Acts you will quickly see that what was actually saving people and causing the spread of Christianity was not doing good works like you say. It was the power of the Holy Spirit that was not only opening peoples hearts and minds to the truth but it was the Holy Spirit that was actually doing the saving. Baptism doesn’t save people at all and your false doctrine of a demonic church teaches that works are what save you but you know nothing of God or His power and that is because you are ignorant. It’s the blind leading the blind. Paul was ignorant too before Jesus saved Him on the road to Damascus. Being ignorant is not what will send you to hell. It’s pride, but also it’s in your ignorance not understanding how wretched you are before a holy God. Your works are dead works because unless you have been born again you can not only never enter heaven but you will never see the kingdom of heaven either and the kingdom of heaven is not in heaven. The kingdom of heaven is here now. It’s everywhere. When Jesus died on the cross and God raised Jesus back to life Paul wrote Jesus now sits at the right of God ruling over everything. Jesus destroyed the works of the devil already. You are already dead in your sins and condemned to hell. Your works cannot save you. You have to be born again but if you remain in your sins you will surely perish and I am sorry but Catholicism is leading people to hell because it is the pride of man that thinks your works will save you. Jesus said if you believe in me you pass from death to life. Jesus said whoever believes in Him will never see death. Jesus gave the thief on the cross eternal life in a moment because Jesus holds the power of life and death. Jesus holds the power to forgive sins not your priests. Show me the scripture that says Peter or Paul had the power to forgive sins. The scripture Catholics quote is misunderstood and misquoted and taken out of context. If you read Acts chapter 8 Simon the magician had a wicked heart and he was bound up with sin in his heart according to Peter and that’s even after Simon was baptized and the Bible says Simon believed the gospel. However Peter rebuked Simon to his face and told him that he needed to repent and pray to God that maybe the thought of his evil heart may be forgiven him. If Peter could forgive him as Catholics teach Peter should have just forgiven him but he didn’t. Peter being a man did not have the power to forgive sins as in make a man righteous before God. Peter could forgive people their transgressions but he could not forgive their sins in order to make them holy or clean before God. Only Jesus had the power to do that and that’s why Jesus said people are born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. I know you will not understand what I tell you and that’s because Catholics never want to come to the truth. They would rather die in their sin because of their pride. So I leave you with your pride and maybe just maybe God will forgive you of your sin one day before you die if God willing you will come to a knowledge of the truth.

@The View Was Worth the Climb nowhere in the bible does it say faith "alone" Marin Luther added the word "alone" in fact James 2:24 says:"You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone." work without faith is dead. and faith without works does nothing. why read the bible? why go to church? why clothe the naked and feed the hungry?
the point is not to boast in the works, but to live in faith and live fruitfully through the works of it.

    • The View Was Worth the Climb
The View Was Worth the Climb Před 2 lety

stangerling Yes but the Bible says if a man works then he will get what is owed to him which is his wage and the Bible says the wages of our sin is death. The Bible makes is very clear that we are not saved by works but by faith. The same James that you quoted saying faith without works is dead is the same James that said if you keep the whole law but yet break one of Gods laws then you are guilty as though you had broken all of them so what good will works profit you when God is going to judge you according to his perfect law and you are found guilty. Your wage will be eternal damnation and the works can not erase your sins. This is why justification is given to the one who believes the promise and if one believes the promise if his faith is genuine then the Holy Spirit gives that person eternal life through the power of the Holy Spirit. If one has received the Holy Spirit then that that same man walks according to the spirit and no longer continues to practice sin. It doesn’t mean you become completely sinless. It just means your new heart that was given to you desires to please God and obey the Holy Spirit.
