I'm sure that I'm not the only one who has thought of this but that's why the Night's Watch take vows of chastity. The Night's Watch would be under the same vow that Craster has with the White Walkers. The OG Night's watch would rather not give more human sacrifices knowing that they would have to kill their own children.

      P. Cybele Muller I love these types of videos!! If you aren’t familiar, look up a channel called Secrets of the Citadel; Gemma (the channel owner) has a series called “Unraveling the text”. She’s done an amazing job discussing each chapter of the book. It’s the perfect compliment to a series like this which the focus is on the show. Between this channel and Secrets of the Citadel, you’ve got all bases covered! Excellent for those who haven’t read the books as it’s essentially the cliffs notes.
P.S. I mean no disrespect “plugging” another channel; I just wanted to show how Alt Shifts videos are a wonderful compliment to the book ones on Secrets of the Citadel. usual this was well done, Alt Shift! I look forward to the next episode.

Three holy shit moments in Game of Thrones:
    1. Burning Shireen
    2. Hodor origin
    3. Jon's parents
What about the actual holy shit moments?
Like the Red Wedding, Walk of Shame, Tyrion killing Tywin, blowing up the Sept, the non-existent writing in season 8

@Frank Merker Oh, they meant stuff that wasn't in the books yet, but is going to be?
If so, are those three things the only 3 events past season 5 that are faithful to the books?
If all of that is true I'm really wondering what other stuff Brann is going to do with his powers, and what happens with Patches.

    • Frank Merker
      Frank Merker Před měsícem

pretty sure #3 is dany's descent to madness and Jon's betrayal of her, the writers already deduced who Jon's parents were. The writers knew about the red wedding and walk of shame and tyrion killing tywin. They made up blowing up the sept in lieu of axing the Young griff/Jon connington storyline

You misunderstood the Tyrion quote about wearing your identity like armor so it can't be used to hurt you. He says that to Jon after Jon takes offense to being called a bastard. Tyrion was talking about confidence and self-respect. If you embrace your damaged identity, insults won't affect you. He didn't literally mean no harm would come to you because of your identity if you embrace it...

Also, I know this is a bit OOC for your style and demeanour but, I think you might benefit from criticizing the show for wrecking Euron's character, and the handholding Daenarys gets. Also, any criticism at all or Season 7 would be much appreciated (with the exception of Jaime who's character has become ironically flawless compared to everyone else's treatment in the show), although I guess it would be redundant given the number of channels that have shat on it since the finale. But all the teleporting and the plot bullshit deserves critical analysis from a great channel like yours

Melisandre definitely mentions, "The Prince Who Was Promised," but the term; "Azor Ahai," isn't actually uttered by any character in the show at any point.
That seems to be, so far, a, "book only," term.
(Just like the, "Valonqar," part of the homeless vampire lady, "Maggy the Frog," prophecy, from the Cersei flashback at the beginning of Season 5.)
Clearly, David Benioff and Dan Weiss are, "cherry picking," from the lore, presumably because the show was always going to have a more definitive scope than the books.
Daenerys isn't exactly an, "ordinary," human being.
Her Valyrian blood makes her body completely immune to open flames and even extreme heat.
(The significance of which, besides the obvious; that Valyrians had adapted over thousands of years to a life in constant proximity to creatures that breathe fire, has already been made abundantly obvious.)
And Arya and Sansa have, over the past seven Seasons, developed quite unique and beneficial abilities, when it comes to being forced to endure the same adversity they have been continuously exposed to, but I can only see Arya's learned abilities helping in the upcoming crisis.
All that being said, Jon Snow is undoubtedly the, "Song of Ice and Fire," whether that means he's also the, "Prince Who Was Promised," or not, hopefully we will get an answer to in the last Season.
But, it's Bran whose abilities I don't understand the most.
Not because I can't imagine the benefits inherent in being able to see the past, or events happening right now, anywhere in the world, but because it looks like the former, "Three-Eyed Raven," from which Bran has assumed his new role in the story, also had the same, 'abilities," and they didn't appear to help him whatsoever once the Night King found his hideout.
How do Bran's Greenseeing or warging abilities help against the Night King any more than the other, "Three-Eyed Raven,"?
It looks to me like the Night King has his own brand of, "Warging," abilities.
Except, instead of being able to inhabit the mind of a wolf, an Eagle, or toggle between a bunch of crows, he, and all his White Walker Generals, are able to, "Warg," into the minds of thousands of dead people and animals all simultaneously.
Unless Bran can figure out some similar opposing ability, he's essentially no more of a threat to the Night King and his Army of the Dead than the previous, "Three-Eyed Raven," was.
And, his only, "defense," appeared to be; telling everyone else to, "Run!" just before being slashed into a Thanos-style wisp of smoke in Bran's vision lol when the Night King cut his actual body in half.
And, Bran being able to, "look," through the past to see how the Army of the Dead was defeated before is only as helpful as it was in the past.
Because they weren't defeated outright, you know, like, "for good."
The Night King and the Army of the Dead were only ever, "pushed back," into the far reaches of the Land of Always Winter, where they slept for centuries while people built a giant, magical wall of Ice, because pushing them back was the best they could do.
If that's the best outcome the characters have again, then it's not exactly solving the problem, is it?
For Bran, or anyone, to be able to claim ultimate victory over the threat, they're going to have to do better than that.
And, is it the Night King, or Cersei who is the ultimate, "boss," to beat to win the game?
Oh, and the, "prophecy," that says Cersei will have only three children, "no more, no less," was rendered completely null and void the day Tommen was born.
Because of that one child she had with Robert, that everyone keeps forgetting about.
Her, "Little Black-haired beauty, who tried to beat the fever that took him," that she told Catelyn about in the second Episode of Season One, (and mentioned to Robert himself only two episodes later.)
So, Clearly, whether Cersei is pregnant going into Season 8 or not, and whether or not she actually has the child, the supposed, "prophecy," is ALREADY proven wrong.
There's no doubt that there are a great many, "loose ends," to tie up in only six episodes, even if their combined run-time is 404 minutes. (Which is over 15 minutes longer than an entire trilogy of feature films.)
It definitely sounds like plenty of time, but is it?
Less than a week to go! 👍

Okay guys I'm binge watching GOT like crazy. Just ended it and starting over again now. I have a question. It often appears to me that people who are traveling in the northern direction are entering Castle Black from the northern side. Example. S.1 E.1 the three scouts got out to find a group of wildlings. They head out heading north where the wildlings live. When they are attacked and only one is left alive he heads to Winterfell which is going south of the wall. Wouldn't that last scout would have to return to the wall and pass through to get to Winterfell. Same thing with the Stanis attack at the wall his army was south of the wall but they rode in from the north and made the attack. Is my sense of direction off?
