I dont mind. Phones are tools. What i consider jaw dropping feature or what not is something that legitimately makes life in general easier. For everyone regardless of age. I personally dont like how the details transfer. Like... everyone slowly drops the headphone jack to save money... but why arent they all adding pens? That thing is great! And id love something like it on an i phone... or any other phone for that matter...

We are being way overcharged for the top of the line cell phones. They'd still make profits by cutting current prices in half.

Easy fix, 16x9, 5k,8k screens, also removable battery and expandable storage, granted this would just make customers happy, so they can keep their phone for a long long time. My current phone is the Razor phone 2, the only thing I don't like about it, is it has no removable battery, other than that, its a perfect phone, some people may hate a little on the camera/its good, but its not a pixel camera.

Blackberry : typing is our greatest innovation . Now blackberry is history because of lack of real innovation and crazy price .

Bro Apple did not slow down iPhones to get more sales, look at the facts they tried to help people so they don’t have to upgrade them often and also what about how They gave support for iOS 12 for iPhones all the way back to 2013

I use a macbook pro, an iPad and as a phone: an iphone SE 128gb that cost me €240,- new. I really don’t see a reason for a big ass expensive phone that won’t fit in my pocket and doesn’t have a headphone jack. There is only so much more you can invent to make smartphones better. Now they just go for a better screen and bigger. I don’t really care about that.

I think this whole industry has been waiting for phones to decline. 5G has been out for quiet sometime and they're not going to adopt it until next recession. This helps the economy - everything is planned 5 years in advance. While we're here trying to figure it out.

lets be real, phones reached their top performance by now. Even phones at 200/300 are snappy, work perfect with every day usage, the cpus inside them handle all tasks and rly if your thing isnt gaming then you are 100% satisfied. Ram is getting to the 4gig minimum even for cheaper phones too, more than enough for most ppl... nothing rly jaw dropping is coming from the phone market, nothing rly demanding is being released as a software that would launch phone productivity to the next level. Really, the only thing that separates avg mid rangers and top performers nowadays is the screen quality itself. Not even the cameras stand out that much anymore, yeah you wont be a full time photographer with a midrange phone, but neither will the 1k flagship take you there, and for just everyday snap takers, difference is not that big...

And they getting very worse instead of better FaceID & Fingerprints is violating human rights and is a mass-crime²,
then you can not change akkus anymore and all the other stuff really getting bad as fck.
Also you just need only 2 good phones in your whole life not every year are you all stupid as fck ?
Also a smartphone you have charge always - makes no sense at all.

  • Tim Harrington

Is it not the fact hardware has reached a point where we don't need to upgrade every copy of years now?

Five years ago a two year old phone would have become somewhat slower (so a 2012 phone in 2014), due to the increases in software and requirements. In addition to that, cameras were getting better year on year and it made some sense to upgrade relatively frequently.

Today a two year phone (2017 in 2019) can do everything you want it to and quickly, and it is likely the camera is pretty good and does everything you need it to.

Basically like desktop PCs - there isn't really much point in upgrading as frequently anymore as an older phone can do everything you need it to.

Samsung and Apple are ridiculously priced. There is not a cell phone on the planet worth $900.00 let alone $1300.00 like the Samsung Note 10+. Plus these scumbag companies have unethical [ractices like slowing down people's phones and who knows what other problems they are intentionally creating via updates. People including myself are fed up with these practices and not getting what I pay for. If I buy a 1300.00 phone I expect it to work perfectly for no less than 5 years as I am someone who keeps the phone in an otterbox all the time. The expectation to get a new phone every year is ridiculous and people who do that are immature and irresponsible. I am currently looking for a budget phone for the first time and will not be spending 1000.00 on anybody's cell phone.

Global economy is fine. All these years companies seeing decline because the markets they reached every corner of the markets available for them. Even a poor chap from india has a decent smartphone with ambanis free data. The number of people who want yearly upgrades eventually will decline even further unless they stop annual flagships, or come up with an actual reason every year to upgrade.

  • Comp3630

For me, the iphones are just too insanely expensive.
I'd love to get a new one, but my current iphone7 (which is fine) cost about $600 at launch.
Now if want to buy the newest version of it , it's $1,500.
If Apple doesn't bring down the price, their gonna lose their customers to android.
Once Apple loses their (one and only advantage) eco system,
I don't think anyone can justify buying a $1,500 smartphone.

belive it or not . im still using the note 3 samsung . and it does the job more than needed till date . the only thing that messes it is the updates they force on u . but i learned to skip them .
    1. removable battery that u can through and replace any time
    2. not a glass case that is designed to break .like the s7 for example . every one who bought it broke it first week of use hahahhaha.
    3. head jack . hahaaa..
and to be more honest . a phone shouldnt ever be above 300$ for top things . like tell me how much is their cost and how much money they want to earn . thats greeeed in its worst forms . a slightly better camera 1200$ . oh they made a better phone with better cam for 100$ in china . what should we do what should we do .... ok lets makee a phone with 5 cameras . 1200$ . hahahhah . i mean best canon cam i can buy for 500$ or even less ...... people are not stupid and should not bite such bates anymore

I never gave in to a phone belief system over 50$ or so. I wish more people realized 2 way walkie talkies can be used instead, only 4 family especially. Always distractions of family or safety. Saves many ways. Other options. like CBs(citizen band radio') like any service vehicles.

the reason people aren't buying high end iphones & galaxy s10's is because they put the price up too high, a high end phone should never have cost gone over $500, we bought our staff 15 new galaxy A6 phones for $189 on special offer as replacements for galaxy s4's from a few years back, everyone happy with them. 15 phones for the price of 2.5 iphone Xs and no complaints. This reminds me of the laptop industry about 8 years ago, race to the bottom, black and grey black plastic and a noisy fan for $399, then Microsoft had enough and came out with the surface pro suddenly everyone wanted to spend money again because they made really good devices that worked well and looked nice, so unless we see some sort of major innovation then this is the phone market for the next few years.

I never go looking for a specific brand or just a good camera

Oh thank goodness. I was worried we were going to have to keep buying the stupid things. I mean, we used to not have to keep buying them at one point. I remember it. I mean they didn't even exist. Then suddenly not only did they exist but then we've got to keep buying the stupid things. And not only that but even after you buy it you have to keep paying for it on a non-stop sort of basis or it stops working. And don't even get me started on the chronic charging requirements. Well anyway the endgame is near. Best news I've had in a long time!

This couldn't be more wrong. Fact of the matter is that he saw sales for ONE quarter, most people don't buy $1000 phones mid may, such purchases are usually made during the holidays, which is why you see the zig zag sales chart BY QUARTER on 0:30. In fact I predict that in a mere 10 years phones will begin to replace desktop computers as some phones are now compatible with docks that allow for the addition of monitor keyboard and mouse.
