Disney is the prime example of, “You either die as a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”
@Cynical Old Dwarf That was literally the plot of *Muppets Most Wanted.*
@trolleriffic I've now done more research. Disney was involved with every Pixar movie since 1995, but then Disney bought them in 2006.
@Satan's Legion of Evil No they didn't. Disney bought Pixar in 2006 so before that Pixar had independently made Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles.
You live long enough to see yourself become THE MESSAGE
@The Great Necromancer of Middle Earth What does Minecraft have to do with a line like this? The only thing you do in that game is build things and kill NPCs.
I have a weird feeling that this was all Bob Iger's plan. He knew that terrible movies were going to come out and he basically bailed in the right so that movie and TV shows would come out during Bob Chapek's run. TV shows and especially movies take years to make meaning it was greenlit under Iger's run and with these projects almost done Chapek had no choice but allow them to be released to make some of the money back which made it look like it he was the one responsible for these movies and TV shows being made. Chapek was creating a functioning system for Disney and now that he's gone I think Iger is going to use it and claim that it was his, taking all the credit. Movies like Elemental seems like a movie that was made under Chapek's rain. I expect to see some good content coming out from Disney because of Chapek's system. But once they run out and they will have to make new ideas I wonder if Bob Iger will do this all over again.
I think you're overestimating corporate competence. It's far more likely that iger got lucky a couple times, made a bunch of stupid decisions, then fucked off before shit hit the fan instead of some grand master plan.
🎄🎄Merry Christmas 🎁🎁🎁👆your CHclip profile has been selected as the random winner of my giveaway dm Me to claim it...
I used to work at Disney, I can honestly say the amount of activists outnumbers any other kind of people there now.
I got offer for 3d modelling job disneys mobile game but I sensed something feels off and refused... no way gonna support them and create 3d for woke shit
@BeckG keep doubting, just as youve always done in your life
Sure buddy. And my dad is Captain Hook
They outnumber the staff anywhere, nowadays...😕
If I were working in human relations, I would see any mention of Disney on a résumé as a red flag at this point unless they were a Gay man or Lesbian sacrificed on the altar of the tr-ns cult.
Man, you guys remember when we could go to a movie, be entertained for a couple hours, maybe hit with something profound and beautiful from time to time, and leave? Those were the days
last good movie i saw in theaters was The Northman
Go watch avatar
@Sufnsk Anne Can't even blame capitalism, cos none of this shit is making any money. It's the mythical "modern audience" that they seem to believe exists in vast numbers. This will all backfire the deeper they dig their own grave.
There are a few good nuggets. Not much but just enough to get me to a theater every now and then.
I miss those times. Its just about culture wars caused by billionaires to keep people divided. They do that to keep stealing power that belongs to the people, and to steal money ofc.
Disney is the definition of "When you reach the top, the only place to go is down."
In hollywood, you fail upwards. You guys may hope they'll collapse, but they have all the power and money to continue the trash train for a loooooooong time
This never would’ve happened if they had not shown open contempt for their customers and had not cut so many corners everywhere.
Disney was finished the moment they decided to prioritise *The Message* over proper storytelling
I wish I could have a clip of The Drinker saying *The Message*. Make a great meme.
That's why Disney will never get another dollar from me in my lifetime.
@Oscar Wind Get woke, go broke. There's truth to it.
The "MESSAGE" is complete BS, ergo, Disney is too. Hope they sink into their own swamp.
No shit representation of minority groups in hollywood is “Propaganda” to you far-rightists.
Remember all those high profile directors who dropped out of directing Disney-owned movies after they've been announced and even filmed? This reminds me of that. Disney is so hellbent on churning out as many products as possible as fast as possible before they even know what they want the products to be. And this mad dash seems to have gone all the way up to the top of the company. They hired Chapek before they even knew if he was the best person for the job.
@Attmay TQ+ cult?
@Nyet Zdyec it is relevant to everything because they have built their legacy on promoting heterosexual supremacy in everything they fucking do.
@Slevin Channel they are even worse now that they are pushing the TQ+ cult. They really need to be shut down by every means necessary.
@Slevin Channel it was waay better before
@Slevin Channel Okay... but how is that relevant to the current state of affairs at Disney?
As long as people continue to give them money, they’ll continue doing what they’re doing. The only thing they really care about is money, so if you don’t like the message they’re sending out, quit giving it to them.
That's why I'm not gonna watch Wakanda Forever.
@Cathleen Cumpton I mean I have been to the parks recently and it's packed to the brim even on weekdays so I guess the boycott ain't working in theme parks
@Cathleen Cumpton what do you mean? Thor love and thunder and wakanda forever both crossed 700M $.
The problem is that they are not hive mind who cares about money. There are many people in different positions and some of them cares about politics much more, some cares about there own money and reputation, but not company. Anyway plus is thet there is % of people who really care about making good film. Minus - this % isnt really big if we dont count people thinking that good film is not about plot, stile and characters, but about messege.
They are not seeing success at the box office or the theme parks. They are lossing money big time.
They fired him for doing everything he was told to do
here is what I am gonna say. It is important for everyone's voice to be heard, especially in cinema, and especially voices that have typically been misrepresented in the past. BUT when that becomes more important than telling an actually entertaining story, things will ultimately go downhill. When you work in art, if you prioritize ANYTHING over making art, your quality will drop.
@Jade Runner 2049 you mean the actual hero of World War II?
@Jade Runner 2049 😂😂😂😂 wow
@Jade Runner 2049 Said the guy living in historicly right wing, concervative and most hypercapitalistic country in the world. I hate the woke bs but you're absolutely delusional.
@TheMarshmelloKing personally I would define misrepresented voices by how whether the films character is meant to uplift or mock the given person. And yes that would largely be POCs because there hasn’t always been the most flattering depictions. However other groups, Christianity, teenagers as a whole, hell even basic concepts such as marriage and friendship are often misrepresented and should be better seen on screen. (And yes I completely agree with the second point. Prioritize actual talent above anything else)
Question: what does "misrepresented voices" mean? that's a pretty flexible phrase. What I see, over and over and over again in hollywood- is a tendency to use some variant of this term to prioritize the employment and advocation of certain people based ONLY on on their skin color or gender. That is an especially pernicious practice when it so loudly boasts of being a cause for "equality" and justice.
It’s good to see the consequences of their actions.
@Theodore Oh but they will one day
@Alay Patel Just wait
@Young Dr. Seuss You've missed his DC videos, haven't you?
@Your mum excellent
@just some guy without a mustang joe mama
I was finally able to convince my sister with 3 kids to stop supporting Disney in any way, I did my part.
My Wholesome Congratulations
Disney Employees: *Lambasts Chapek for allying himself with them when the Parental Rights Act was signed*Also Disney Employees: *Get arrested for being involved in child sex trafficking crimes*
@Prasanth Thomas Yeah that came from the foam mouthing activists that don't have kids in the first place and shouldn't have any saying whatsoever in what the parents decide for their kids. We had something similar here years ago and we, who had child in school,were glad that it passed so fast to any activist to be aware of it.
@Starman062 "Don't Say Gay" (despite the Bill not even using the word "gay" even once)
@Attmay what did he call it before?
Stop calling the bill that. Call it what it is rightfully called: the parental rights act.
Contact me for your reward 🎊 🎊
All my friends with kids won’t let them watch a Disney movie unless they have watched it first, so they can check for messaging, Disney used to be the safe beat nothing controversial, universal moral values that extended to every culture and religion, to put it simply Disney was the 1 hour break the parent got from answering the “hard questions”, “here watch this, mummy is going to have a drink in the next room”, now a kid watches a Disney movie and you have to send them to a psychologist just to unpack what they just watched
@William Morahan "what makes the red man red" song from Peter Pan and how one of the crows in Dumbo is named Jim. While many have a problem with some things in Pocahontas, I don't see the derogative way the explorers talked about the natives as as big of a problem as others might, because that's true to the time/story and tied into the larger themes of realizing shared humanity and overcoming prejudice.
@bear6213 Can you name a few?
@Infinite Space Pardon?
It was never really safe. We just didn't know what the subtle little pedophile signs were.
@sum 1 difference is that propaganda is so long ago you old person, Kids today will not care nor choose to understand it because its out of date. Also its not as bad as today where you *HAVE TO WATCH AND LIKE SOMETHING* otherwise your a biggot.
A perfect case of what happens when you forget your paying customers.
The one thing Disney is not afraid of: their customers. And that’s exactly the most important group to cater to.
@Randy Williams You realize Beauty and the Beast is based on a 500 year old fairy tale? It's hardly a new message that a person's outside doesn't reflect their insides.
@Randy Williams Equity is a bad thing. Equality is the gold standard.
@Josh Tiscareno most American Gay movies are bilge, quite frankly, because most American movies since the end of the studio system have been bilge.
@TeeKay instead, they cast antisemite Emma Thompson in the remake no one asked for.
@TeeKay they either need to throw the T under the bus or their movies will keep failing.
At this point, I’m really just looking forward to watching Disney implode
2019 was Disney's peak year when it comes to Cinema tickets sale, but also the year that it looked like Disney was about to buy up all of Hollywood.But their constant push for the message caused them to fall off their throne.
My son is 22 and loved those old movies. I asked him at thanksgiving if he wanted to go see a movie “I don’t like movies anymore, neither do my friends” why not? I asked… “because they’re awful”. Disney is doomed when young people would rather do most anything else but go see a movie where they piss all over men and white people. I’m proud of my wise son.. 🤠
Thank you for coming on the internet to tell us
As a young person, Disney movies are repulsive, idiotic, pandering, and vapid. They're cookie cutter, have no substance, worth, or themes. I saw Puss and Boots 2 with my younger brother, and it had some of the most complex humanistic themes and messages of any animated movie I've ever watched. It's very compelling, and it shows where the artistic talent is going in the industry. (Hint: Not on Disney+)
Same here, looks like some young people do in fact have a functioning brain.
And I mean movies in general,I think a decent one is made maybe once or twice year with some exceptions
I'm 21 and I used to love Disney movies but the new ones are so awful that I prefer watching low budget john wayne westerns
So, for the past few years, all I have heard is that it was Bob Chapek who un-Disneyed Disney, took away all the things that made Disney vacations special (Magical Express, Magical Express luggage service, ultra-clean hotels and parks, street performers, good movies you could take kids to, etc) and cut services to the bone. Now he is gone and you are telling me he was about to stage a purge on the true villains? Seems a little odd.
@highflyer Truthfully, I can’t say money is any better. They’re both bad. Also, China was (and still is) against plutocracy. Hell, Mao’s experiencing a resurgence of popularity, likely because people over there are as sick of greedy mega corporations as us.
@Lalehian Deity China already had their marxist/maoist "cultural revolution" where anyone with an iota of real intelligence was effectively cancelled irl.
@Razvan yep for those at the top its not about money, its about control, and pushing divisive & demoralizing narratives in media helps further that goal.
@Willowy13 You do realize China doesn’t like ‘the message’ any more than us, right?
Agree. I want Mickey Mao destroyed so Iger being back will make it sure. Thhat said, Chapek was no Angel. He was already doing crap with the parks and he was following the agenda to a T. However, with the giant losses MM was having under HIS watch, he panicked and decided to do what any CEO would do: layoffs, pay the top of company less and ditch the message.Then, people more powerful than him booted him before he could do this to improve his own outcome. Whoever booted him, has invested interest in social engineering society using the biggest entertainment company there is. The borard members will F the shareholders for this.It is the exact same thing that happened to Nokia, only in that case was to destroy the company from within so Microsoft could buy it for peanuts.
"If you can't come up with good ideas of your own, just buy someone else's"*Modern Disney summed up in a sentence.*
@bobnewsdog it doesn’t help the bottom line if another company makes something a better quality and people buy it instead. That’s how the free market works.
@Heather Conner Exactly. Disney’s MO is taking pre-existing works and hyper-sanitizing them. Which is bad.
@bobnewsdog Good! Be skeptical, "Died Suddenly" sure shows why.So, what 80s movies pushed Conservative politics? Honestly, "Red Dawn" was just an off-the-wall What If kind of thing, there has to be more to it than that one.
@John Wolf2 Sorry, I don't believe any of the woke narrative.Sony Pictures once hired a former hair dresser to be a studio head. That's smart. White male. So no woke narrative there.Love talking Star Wars but not left, right or other politics. 80's films were loaded with conservative messaging. I love them. I love today's.
@John Wolf2 Bond will never die.
Feel sorry for Chapek but I see this as good news. If Igor wants to jump in the driving seat of a flaming car speeding towards a cliff and press even harder on the accelerator then more power to him. Would like nothing more than a total Disney collapse at this point so that better companies can buy back their IP.
It is time for the federal government to seize all of Disney’s assets by military force. At minimum, all their copyrights should be voided. The private sector has proved it cannot be trusted to protect the First Amendment.
How I wish we could go back to the good old days, when Disney produced wholesome content while keeping their morally questionable activity secret, like all companies. Now they're just unashamedly evil with no pretense of having a moral conscience.
And note Chapeck was fire under the no fault clause of his contract. So the board had no grounds to terminate him they just did. I think that there is some serious back room shenanigans going on and I think it is connected to either embezzlement or Chapeck stumbled onto a closet of skeletons. Either way I think he started asking the right questions and that meant he had to be gotten rid of.
Nah, he was fudging budgets around Disney+. They used the no grounds clause to keep this quiet and not have to go public with this knowledge. NDA signed. And Bob Iger's first move was to fire Kareem Daniel, the head executive over the department that includes Disney+. Kareem was probably a part of the shenanigans.
Hey thanks for watching 😊 Monthly random Gifts contests is on & you've been selected amongst the Console winners,Dm the name above✍️..
Anyone who’s been paying attention to Disney these last couple years would know that Iger probably still had some kinda control over Disney while Chapek was installed as a temporary CEO to try to make everyone forget about Iger’s shitstorm. Chapek was the most obvious fall guy to bring Iger back. This basically just confirms it lol
It’s the same way Ron Miller was driven out of Disney. They blamed him for losing Gen X when Walt had the boomers in the palm of his hand (figuratively speaking). Frankly they should’ve blamed Card Walker for that. Yet Walker remained in the company at an emeritus level until the 90s and was made a Disney legend, while Miller undeservedly became the butt monkey of Disney history until somebody came along and did his job even worse than he did. At least he could save his marriage if not his job. Miller saw the potential in *Splash.* Walker unsuccessfully tried to get him to cut it like he had gotten his way on so many post-production hatchet jobs from *The Happiest Millionaire* to *The Watcher in the Woods.*There is a book about the shake up of Disney called *Storming the Magic Kingdom* and I highly recommend it but it was written in the 1980s so the shitstorm after that had yet to happen. It ends on a triumphalist note for Michael Eisner, Frank Wells, and Jeffrey Katzenberg, and for Roy E. Disney for bringing them in.
Any hard evidence to back up your theory?
Iger shitstorm, are you serious? The guy was Disney's greatest CEO since probably Walt Disney himself. Who the hell do you think was responsible for getting all those brands, starting Disney+, upgrading the Disney Parks and successfully launching another one in China. Was his tenued perfect, of course not no one's is. But shitstorm....if you really believe that your an idiot as the facts say otherwise.
Disney is the EA of movies. They'll buy companies with original ideas and destroy them.
EA Sports- To The Shame!
@Lady Alaina Electronic Arts, a software company. They used to find great ideas and bring them to market, helping companies with finishing their product, resolving quality issues, documentation, etc. (and no small amount of copy protection).Now, what they're known for is buying up titles and killing them, rather than coming up with the promised follow on, and firing everyone in the company they bought. Some of their worst is re-labeling software as 'new!', when it's last year's code and the current rosters, (like Madden 20xx, and other sports titles), in-game purchases, loot crate mechanics, pay-to-win, and selling half the game as "downloadable content", rather than just including it with the package at the initial release.
The roots of *Song of the South* can be traced back to African folktales.
Star Wars Zany Golf
Yet they have managed to stay alive over the years and while Sega crashed and burned with anything other than Sonic the Hedgehog and eventually their consoles couldn’t compete with Nintendo 64 or Playstation.
There's an old saying that everyone knows "Consequences have actions" and seeing Disney get theirs...does put a smile on my face.
@Brad Thompson No. Go away.
@Brad Thompson "umm you made a minor spelling error" 🤓
Get not gets. Learn English.
Their paying customers eat this shit up and kiss Disney's shoes.
It's ridiculous how bad the lessons/morals being taught in Disney's newer films and TV shows really are. A big part of what made the old Disney flicks so good was the morals they taught, at first based on old fairy tales and the timeless lessons and virtues they held (kindness, courage, honesty, bravery, integrity, selflessness etc.).But the lessons and morals in the latest parade of trash from Disney seem to have been crafted by Patrick Bateman.
I used to love Mr. Iger as he championed Twin Peaks when ABC wanted to ax it, but he survived in ABC/Disney all these years because he stopped sticking out his neck and towed the line.
That doesn’t compensate for his microaggressions against both Black people and homosexuals by replacing *Webster* with *Full House,* nor his pandering to racism by polluting Tuesday night with a *Gimme A Break!* ripoff and a *Cosby Show* ripoff.And it certainly doesn’t make up for his favoritism towards the Miller-Boyett bilge machine. The best shows on Friday night were the ones they didn’t produce.And if he was so keen on *Twin Peaks,* then why didn’t he do more to stop *Dinosaurs* from getting bounced from time slot to time slot? The only reason I quit watching that show is because I could never find it anymore!
Hell yeah Twin Peaks rules.
Disney used to be my childhood and adulthood, and now it has become its own worst enemy.
@Tom Harrington Str8 yt m@le shitlibs are dangerous.
I, too, feel betrayed, and so does my wallet.
Exactly. People are like why do you not love Disney like me and I'm like do you know nothing
I think some of these episodes would work loads better as a podcast - would save data and everything and you could close the phone screen down and keep listening.
@Benjamin Armour I don't like WATCHING people talk and the same clips again and again. And listening to people I can get on with other things "ffs".
@Drinker, your powers of observation and your application of logic / good sense are truly rare. Your reviews should be required viewing for all students in the entertainment production biz (and perhaps all students of the humanities and philosophy). Keep it up!
I basically walked away from Disney. And you know what? I don't miss it. I hear some of the new properties are pretty good. Andor and such. F*ck that. I'll never know. I'm done and my money is saved for things Like The Expanse and House of Dragons. Hell, even Pennyworth with all its shoehorned anachronistic politics was interesting. Disney? Well, let's just say tha once you turn them off, it's amazing how easy they are to forget.
“We can ignore reality, but we cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.”― Ayn Rand
@Ned Ames Rand might have been a questionable writer with sophomoric ideas (if that's your perspective), but that quote is incisive and completely true.
@William Morahan thanks
@Johnnie Finney I was agreeing with you.And making my own quote to go with the Ayn Rand one.Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃🍽
@William Morahan thanks I geuss
@Johnnie Finney DittoProblem is that people can’t send to agree on what the hell reality really is.
Growing up, I’d *never* have expected that I would cheer for Disney’s fall.
@XjestR LoL! 🤣
Depressing, isn’t it?But I’m right there with you.
@tyler wagner I Thought there was something FISHY about her!!
You and me both
@John Graham English… isn’t your first language… I hope.
Props to you for mentioning treasure planet in this video. Not many people remember that film but I still love it, so glad to see you hold it in at least some value
Appreciate all the support so far! Contact me for your reward 🎁🎯🎯....
I agree with you Drinker. I just wish we could go back to the good old days when movies were fun entertaining and not always pushing THE MESSAGE. Every time I watch any of these new shows or movies I get my pillow and blanket and crash on the couch because it’s so bland and dull.
Then, maybe the message doesn’t go far enough.
I feel like even with everything we know about Disney there is still an unknown drama within Disney we're unaware of.
Dm i got a surprise for you 🎁🎉❤..
Every company should be afraid of its employees
@Lalehian Deity Love it, care to elaborate? I think I know what you mean.
What kind of dumb shit is that?
No, they should be afraid of their customers.
@Alexandru Putere Every company should value its workers. Different from employees.
No ,hey shoul not
This Disney boardroom drama is far more entertaining than anything the studio has produced in years.
Sad, but true.
No kidding. Someone needs to get started on the sequel to DisneyWar.
@griffy ye 'It's like someone tricked me. But not in a bad way.'
The shocking plot twist in this drama is the news is reporting, "Disney fires woke Bob Chapeck!" They've got it all wrong. Chapeck was flailing trying to deal with the woke lunatics and mountain of debt Iger brought into the company.
Technically the boardroom drama counts as something the studio has produced, lol. They should just release bts footage of the company's backstage drama as a reality show.
'I expect so little and yet Im still dissapointed'
The issue that I had with Chapek was what he decided to do to the parks with Genie+ and the doing away with the old annual pass system. Idk if that was entirely his deal, but I doubt that the decision was entirely out of his hands.
I think you give Chapek to much credit- he oversaw the making of „She-Hulk“, „Strange world“, „Lightyear“ and so on!
Thanks for the likes and comments 🙏 DM me I have a surprise package for you 🎁💐,..
Bud, we should all be so lucky as to hold our bosses hostage. You are SERIOUSLY giving Chapek too much credit.
Disney was once the sign of quality. How times have changed.
@Ryan Boyer They are cooking the books. Ask Sandy Kuba.
@Brian O'Neil It was perfectly fine until KKKirKKK KKKameron killed it with that failed series pilot that failed because of him.
@Anik Ultra ok buddy think what you want. but if you actually watched his live streams or read his books you would see a much clearer picture of who he is.
@watch out for who you piss off think drinker is saying dumb shit. And people are not noticing that because they don't even know who he is
True...now a dumpster fire
This is one of those videos where I feel like it gets so, so close to the real issue, and then gets distracted by the land mines intentionally put there to distract everyone. The ‘message’, the wokeness, the ‘loud activists’. Bloody annoying, but ultimately set dressing. Who knows how to misdirect better than an entertainment company? Just once I want someone to notice the real truth, the thing Disney is desperately pushing and disguising at every turn - that we should sit back passively and never try. If you’re angry about Luke skywalker drinking tit milk, you don’t notice that the rebellion is saved by established power and the protagonists - hell, even the antagonist! - Are never allowed agency over their own story. If you’re distracted by there being no Mushu or songs in Mulan you miss that the entire point of the story is gone because Mulan is a superhero and never needs to try, If you’re distracted by Le Fou being gay in Beauty and the Beast you miss that Belle doesn’t resolve her own narrative, the witch, an established power does. And the examples continue. In Encanto, the family aren’t happy they have powers and the family almost tears itself apart - the townsfolk they’ve been babying turn out to have been competent and able to help themselves the entire time without being treated like their useless, getting used to the idea they’re useless - and the happy ending is they go back to being useless because the family keeps having power over them, despite the need for that power (a bandit attack decades in the past) being long gone.Modern Disney is obsessed with established power and its preservation. Underdogs need not apply, who needs goodness of heart, or bravery, tenacity, cleverness, when someone with money or magic will solve your problem for you in such a nice, neat way? Children need to sit and listen to their elders who are the only ones who can solve their problems for them. Give us your power, children and teens. Give us your money. Isn’t it hard to try? Don’t you want someone else to do it for you? Only superheroes can save you, and you aren’t one. Wokeness is a smokescreen, and from the looks of videos like these - it works.
Drinker views everything as part of his childish culture war nonsense now because he's discovered that performance outrage garners clicks.
"Jim, they are dying..." -- Spock "LET THEM DIE!" -- Kirk
Im not a trekkie, but that Borg analogy hit hard.

The one thing Disney doesn't seem to fear is the one thing they should: the customers.
As long as cash is coming in, they don't care. It is not about quality. Subscriber numbers are steady across the 3 big platforms, so nobody cares... unfortunately.
Nothing to fear there. At least not yet. Because the customers in question areyet to realize their true power, which lies in NOT paying for whatever plopsfrom the outhouse called "disney". Only when this power strikes the beast in the belly, so that negative returns ramp up to literally match the investments - only then it's bound to shake even the most rotten, message-brainwashed bureaucrats to the very core. This power is the silver bullet we need.And we already have it. So let's use it.
They will just appeal to your children.
Sheer. Fucking. Hubirs.
It never was about you or your money, because Disney dance to someone elses's tunes. This woke bs is the only thing they care about because they got their orders to spread it or else.
*4:43* Not only should you not back down from this kind of behavior, I would actually encourage it (or at the very least be extremely happy). I would think of it as this: "You are exactly the people I need to fire. Thank you so much for identifying yourselves to me. This company will not succeed if any of the people like you are left inside of it (people who are more focused on displaying your personal opinions on company time instead of building the company). I was worried I was going to have to try to find you people hidden in the machinery of the company, but instead here you are identifying yourselves while actively carrying out fire-able offenses. Sincerely, thank you so much."

Of course they fired him, he had one job; fix the problem without fixing the problem. Obviously that was beyond his ability.
Disney was nicely roasted by Cody Johnston. And his 'Popcorn Dystopia'-Video-Essay is also something that adresses Lots of 'Modern' Problems.
So they fired Bob only to bring back Bob. How interesting… 🤔
The look on Luke's face when he drinks the green milk looks so satisfied like "Ahh, that's the good stuff!" priceless
I do wonder what the green milk was made out of. I guess it was some achoholic drink with green food coloring.
“Guess I got what I deserve”That’s the quote Disney should be using now
@Idfk only Disney shills accuse people of being biased against the company for pointing out their multitude of sins.
@Chase Hedges67 which is still more laughter than that stupid and embarrassingly overrated sitcom he was on ever provided.
@strategery101 what’s “woke“ about pushing anti-Gay ex-Gay eugenics in the form of the TQ+ cult? And this is nothing new. They hired a tr-ns-identified male to write the score for *TRON* while they were in litigation for throwing two Gay men out of Disneyland for dancing together. All this was going on while Matt Dillon’s shirt was going on and off throughout the movie *Tex* the same year!
Disney fans should be saying that too.
Waltuh, put your mouse ears away waltuh. I'm not going to the social justice rally with you waltuh
As much as I would like to laugh at their failures, watching what Disney produces still supports them in a way that I as a individual can really only do against a mega giant like it and that's wash my hands of all its content all together
Good riddance. There is nothing they do that somebody else doesn’t do better. Nothing. There is nothing they produce that you will die if you don’t consume. Nothing.
I've Never subscribed to Disney+ and Never will. I even cancelled my Netflix when they increased the subscription from $7 to $8. That was many years ago.
I cant think of anything that Disney has made in the last ten years that I have watched and think that I might want to watch it again. The magic has truly gone.
I can say that about anything Disney has ever put out
@Fyn Kozari Not a high bar to clear.
@Attmay Such as?
*Frozen II* and *Ralph Breaks the Internet* are more proof of why Walt said “you can’t top pigs with pigs.”The *DuckTales* reboot had some seriously soy-ugly artwork. Go back and watch *DuckTales The Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp* and imagine what the reboot could have been if it looked like that. I also hated how they made the kids into spoiled brats. And trying to turn the other Disney afternoon shows into an extended universe was a typical cash-grab move to promote reboots that may or may not happen. At this point, I’m scared what they would do to *Gummi Bears* if they brought it back.
A bunch of remakes, a bunch of sequels, and yet another *Song of the South* ripoff that is outright copaganda. Jason Bateman owes reparations. He can pay them with “nature’s credit card.”
They’re not afraid of their shareholders, they’re afraid of the giant crony investment firms that make all the decisions on behalf of their shareholders.
Dm i got a surprise for you🎁🎊🎊...
For all of Rey's flaws as a character, her expression in that green milk scene perfectly reflected the incredulity and disgust we felt for what Disney was doing.
Disney was nicely roasted by Cody Johnston.
I loved it when Rey Palpatine said that "Trans Rights Are Human Rights" that was surely some A grade writing.
@Sapere Aude no shit dummy
@Jorian Kell One might say she was _born_ to see a washed-up Jedi milk an alien.
While it is great to see Bob Chapek fired, Bob Iger's return as the CEO of Disney isn't going to make things better. In fact, it's very likely that he's going to make things much worse than when Chapek was CEO especially considering that Iger was the one who made all this mess to begin with. But, hey, at least it'll be fun watching modern Disney fail some more because more Disney burn is music to my ears! :D
Disney filing for bankruptcy will be like a Brazzle dazzle day and a Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah day all rolled into one!
Give it a few years, maybe I will pick up the rights to starwars for the dollar fifty it'll be worth once Disney's done.
Couldn't being happening to a more deserving company. Can't wait to continue to not watch anything they put out. Thanks for saving me all the monies, Di$ney!
Appreciate all the support so far! Contact me for your reward 🎁🎯🎯.....
It's disgusting what today's society has become
Not disgusting enough, there are still thousands of people content with crappy films, bad books and lousy music.
Fun fact - the four movies you used for Pixar were produced before Disney bought them.
@Whaaaaat? it was Ron Miller’s idea to bring Michael Eisner to Disney after the two Disney Paramount coproductions *Popeye* and *Dragonslayer.* Miller was only willing to let him run the film division, though. Eisner wanted it all. Roy E. Disney, who was waging a separate but parallel coup from the one Saul Steinberg launched in 1984, let him have it all. We saw how that played out. For every Splash Mountain there was a Superstar Limo, and for every EuroDisney a Disney’s California Adventure.
Yeh in the late 2000s they went full nostalgia mode and started those remakes
@Ahmed Geblawi yes
@Blair pearson And “The Emperor’s New Groove.”
yup. Pixar dumped it's best manager for a womyn
I think this gives Chapek way too much credit and does not examine massive issues that have arisen in the parks and other non movie and show production areas.
It's about time Disney goes through a new dark age
We are already there. The old one started before Walt died. It started on August 29, 1964. But unlike that one, there is no coming back from this.
Thanks for the video, great points and compilation of clips. Makes me sad seeing Disney of days past and what could have been. I won’t show my small children anything post 2015 from Disney. Had to bust out my old video collection from my childhood
@Brendan Wolff for yet another *Song of the South* wannabe.
Zootopia was pretty good...
Disney is a sinking ship, and bringing Bob Iger back is like poking a huge hole in the hull to sink it faster.
There is an expression: "Stupid should hurt." There comes a point where you just stop hoping people make the right decisions and just hope that their committment to bad decisions rebounds to incapacitate them.
Aka "watch the world burn". In steps the conservative demanding you to "Man Up, YOU fix society!"
This is how I feel about smoking now. It’s stupid, I know it’s stupid. Every time I do it, it hurts. My heart rate spikes, anxiety floods my mind and body, I feel nauseous, my lungs hurt, my throat aches, and I feel dehydrated and exhausted, instantaneously. Yet, when the urges come back, the knowledge of all of these negative consequences gets overridden by the idea of how good it used to feel. Of course, it never does feel good. I wonder now if it ever did, or if it was always a fanciful, illusory ideal conceived by the manipulative powers of chemicals and the receptors they hijack and pillage.In my case, stupid always hurts. But stupidity needs to hurt. If it didn’t, there’d be no incentive to put an end to it. Sometimes you just have to get bitten a thousand times before learning that snakes are bad playmates. In both instances (mine and the state of the entertainment industry), I hope that the lesson triumphs over the manipulative powers at play (in my case addictive chemicals, in the above case ideology), before it’s too late.
considering these people exist and thrive in a *very* loud and *very* powerful bubble- doubtful. Even if they lose money they'll twist the truth and invent outside reasons why they failed. Blaming everyone but themselves. Who knows how long this trend will continue.
@Logan Yes and they are all to a man your woke left wing know nothings. Indeed they either call out your grammar your punctuation or failing that they call you a racist and a Nazi
Grammar nazis are a time tested tradition online
Thanks for the insight Drinker. Appreciate the work you do in exposing “the message”.
But what is the message?
Never underestimate the audience.
Disney is done. They’re homeless. Wait no they’re not.
Can we getting Michael Eisner back? Dude always recognized a good story
He started this mess by bringing Robert Iger into the company with the ABC merger. Disney was firing on all cylinders up until that point.Even Pixar has lost its luster since Disney actually bought it out. Now, all they can do anymore is stupid, sanctimonious, manipulative movies about shapeless blobs. All this Boomer daddy issue crap has been dragging cinema down since the end of the 1960s and it has got to fucking stop.
“We decided that Cancer would be a more fitting death than AIDS.”-Disney
@Attmay Cancer ecosystems often have specific tastes. Some prefer sugar. Others prefer proteins.A cancerous mass is more like a forrest than a tree.There is hope though that biopsy results can allow nutritionists to starve cancerour masses while more direct therapies can specifically nuke the cancerous cells via checkpoint inhibitor drugs, targetted radiation and novel genetic treatments.
Cancer loves sugar.
@py_a_thon thanx for the info !
Cancer has a better kill ratio than AIDS. Makes sense.
Auto Immune Deficiency Syndrome often causes death via cancer.As the immune system breaks down, one becomes susceptible to opportunistic viruses, fungi, bacteria and cancerous cells(or pre-cancerous cells).Basically all of the stuff your body kills every day when your immune system is healthy.
It is sad to see such an amazing company come to this sad end. It was the backdrop of many people's lives. The films of childhood, the amazing stories of Robin hood. and snow white, the imagination of us all brought into reality. Now, smashed and wrecked by identity politics and their sneering hordes of fanatics. We warned them! Again and again, and they refused to listen and killed the messengers. Oh well, time to move on and remember the good days. I hope the "message" was worth it.
You are the hero in the face of "The message" that we don't deserve.
@Shannon McGraw ok gr00mer
@Shannon McGraw are we still talking about Critical Drinker?chclip.net/video/DFHe0-EVGac/video.html
@Shannon McGraw Disney is bad nowadays, that's a fact 100%. So go back to twitter or get a life.
Or he's just posting black pill bs and claiming it as reality. He hasn't even smelled a fact in a decade much less seen one hahahah
Chapek doubled down on streaming first and lost the trust of a lot of top executives. The share price then proceeded to tank. I'm not in favour of Iger's approach of letting the Message get slathered over everything but Chapek certainly wasn't the person to steer Disney back towards making decent original content.
When I first saw the news today, For a moment or so I felt glee, elation even. But after a while the glee has left me and my dear friend cynicism has kicked right in. Iger was the one who had chosen Chapek of all the candidates as his replacement. He had had more than enough time to know what kind of a man/leader Chapek is and will make as the CEO. The way that Chapek & his team have been fired so unceremoniously is quite disgraceful. This whole situation has been a mess. I fell dubious how Iger has returned back so fast. Well, on a positive side, at least Chapek has walked away with a fat check. I don't think he'll have too much trouble finding another job. He'll probably be watching gleefully from afar at Disney's unraveling.
ƬЄҲƬ MЄ ƠƝ ƬЄԼЄƓƦƛM
the mere mention of kathleen kennedy fills me with a sadness and anger im not sure words can describe
Stay mad homophobic klutz
@pfzt Just as age doesn't translate to wisdom, just because you're in the presence of greatness doesn't mean you can absorb it via osmosis. In both instances you'd have to be cognitive and observant of your surroundings.
thankfully, like every modern western female she only hurts herself with her own stupidity
Her name brings me closer to the dark side every time I hear it
@Russell Wall What are the rumors?
"The message" shouldn't be interpreted in all forms of media and entertainment. Those people do a really good job at pointing out things like separation and equality but then proceed to go ahead and do that exact thing themselves. Why don't they do it with their own forms of entertainment aswell
Wednesday is such a good show!!!! All the characters are sooo lovable. I absolutely adore her
DM me 🎁🎁👆👆.
i feel like you lost a bit of your nuance with this one,,, while I agree on good writing, political neutrality isn't always good in films- I think it fits just fine in things like the mcu. its just they do it badly. they're not saying anything significant, they're not saying anything that hasnt been said, they're staying in a little safe bubble of bullshit writing. That's the problem and always has been. Though, I'm also not going to praise someone who was about to fire a bunch of people because they were protesting. Pretty sure that's illegal. I'm not praising the other guy either. I dunno, you seem to be focusing too much on calling social justice warriors fat instead of actually focusing on whats going on w the industry and its a little tired. Granted, I'll probably be called a SJW for this and I don't really care. I like good movies, and good movies can certainly be political and have representation- its just that these writers don't know how nor fucking care enough to do it well.
✨Congratulations ✨🎁👆your CHclip profile has been selected as the random winner of my giveaway contact me on telegram
And that’s what I like making people look at Disney another way which is quite stupid but who cares
Usually love your vids but don’t agree with your take on this one. Woke-ism under Chapek was just as bad, if not worse than Iger. Chapek has done absolutely nothing to slow the rot of woke at Disney. His departure is no loss.
i'm personally holding on to my physical star wars releases so i can watch a new hope without giving Disney money
1:59WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA....DRINKER!! Did you just refer to the prequels as good movies?!Might wanna sober up there buddy.
Love ya Drinker, but I'm not buying this.I'm not going to dispute that Iger may or may not have put individuals in place that started the "message" trend, but I don't buy Chapek was a hero of traditional values.What I do know is when he took over, it got worse, and continued to get worse.He hired TONS of upper management, he fired anyone that could oppose him, created new positions for his buddies, and made Kevin Feige, heads of Pixar, and other divisions report to these new positions he put his buddies in.Where is the evidence that he was "held hostage" by his employees?He literally changed the vision for Disney day one, he literally fired people day one, he literally brought in his own people day one, he literally created positions for his buddies to have jobs day one.If he had all this power, I find it hard to believe that he was sitting there in terror and helpless as Disney went down hill.I think the committee lead creation approach was implemented by Chapek. Because he hired bankers and put them in charge of creatives. He put the committees over the creatives.I don't think Drinker knows WTF he's talking about on this one.
It never ceases to amaze me that these companies start to panic when they ignore the obvious. You treat your employees wrong, they won’t work as hard and will possibly sue. When your art goes from telling a story to making the underlying message obvious, the people get annoyed and lose interest.
Preety sure its less the message and over worked and Increased Corprate mandates thats killing employee rentention
@Angelo R How about the guys working the night shift in a gas station on minimum wage owned by one of the largest and richest companies in the world? Or those in the Nike factories in China being paid next to nothing? Or maybe Elon Musk tellig his works they have to be "hardcore" and work many extra unpaid hours? Its not a Disney thing, its every large corporation.
I don't think they treated their employees wrong, though. The employees bought into the woke mania, and dragged the company into it, also, and it alienated the foundation of Disney: people who paid for their products, who rejected the woke hysteria.To me, it seems they overestimated brand loyalty from people who traditionally carried Disney for generations, and Disney no doubt thought they didn't have to worry about that segment of their income, by far the biggest segment, by appeasing the woke mafia, but they were wrong, and it is glorious to see them squirm at the retribution of the "boomers" and their wallets. The chain is broken; older people actively don't want to take their grandkids to Disneyland anymore, and with good reason: Disney showed those fat wallet people that Disney doesn't care about their values.
I'm just in awe how they make billions and yet have the employees that dress up in their theme parks making cents an our while living in a car
I don't think there is any real panic. For most of the employees, Disney is an entry on their resumes. If the money spigot stopped, then they'd just float their resumes somewhere else. That includes the executives. They want to look good with their peers and on social media. They have to go through the motions of pretending to care about the financials, but they already have plenty of money, enough that their biggest fear isn't not making rent, it's being cancelled. The same goes for the board and the investors. The "investors" are usually fund managers. They don't own all that much Disney themselves. They are appointed by an investment bank or pension fund to act on behalf of the thousands/millions of ordinary people who actually have skin in the game... but no voice. The fund managers go through the motions, too, but their checks mostly clear regardless of how the company is doing. Everybody has to talk like they care about profits, but mostly that's way down on their list of priorities because they've got very little skin in the game. Bad quarter? OK, throw a senior exec or two into the volcano so we can show shareholders that we care. Hire a new guy, and it's back to business as usual. Even the guy who got forced out gets a golden parachute. So they have to ACT panicked, but do they feel any panic? Probably not.
5:27 I've been trying for years to find a way to word this. You did it so eloquently for me. 7:01 same could also be said for American politics post-2020.Thank you, Critical Drinker!
Not only american politics...
One day these videos will be "the history" of Hollywood. Drinker, you are changing the world and what's even better is that YOU are getting better at it.
Dm i got a surprise for you🎁🎉🎉
I remember that I dropped my beer at the Luke Skywalker doing a pole hop from one cliff to another. Keep doing what you do best sir and merry Christmas. Thank you drinker 👍
“The truth is like poetry […] and people hate poetry…”~ Overheard at a D.C. bar ~
The woman screaming at the inauguration is really the clip that keeps on giving.
@Lonely Hedgehog That’s a human?
@Alex P.D Above a certain size, it doesn't matter any more.
Every time I see it I gleefully laugh because she will forever be know as the internet idiot.
@EpicAndroid nah Luke Crywalker ^^
She was right
I have always felt that Disney has a age limit, and their attempt to glom into every studio and franchise is just proof of it.
Hey thanks for watching🤗 monthly Gifts contest is on & you've been selected amongst the console price winners text the above name on telegram for your reward.
Drinker, this gives me a better perspective of what's going on. I don't have a good understanding of the industry, other than knowing that books now seem more attractive than cinema. I thank you kindly.
Lost all Respect for KK after reading the book ( A Producers life ) man I was pissed reading what I read . 🤦🏻♂️
Hey! Long time subscriber, I love your videos and I hate asking for you to review stuff but I recently saw “The Menu” and I really enjoyed it. I agree with almost every review you’ve made and I’d really like to hear your take on it! It’s a thriller and i would recommend seeing it blind.
Remember the 2000’s when Disney took creative risks? We got some great movies: Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Tron Legacy, Treasure Planet, etc.
@Attmay MTI was from the mid 90s I think. And the live action Disney treasure island I never even heard of until a couple years ago. I forgot it even existed.
@The Nerdy Barbarian it came too soon after *Muppet Treasure Island,* and the memory of the 1950 live-action film still looms large in the minds of older Disney fans.
@luchomscyfy but Treasure Planet was still really good
@John Taylor I know it wasn't about the original, that's why I said that saying they took a creative risk in the 2000's is nonsense. When releasing something new, they take a creative risk. Not when rehashing something old.
