Based on how I've heard the rest of the movie goes, this is better of course. But this is still written fairly badly. The only reason she lost was because she got knocked off a horse, otherwise she would have easily won. There was no actually give and take in this sequence, she was ahead for most of the race and there was no thought in my mind that she was going to lose until she got knocked down. This could have been a really interesting sequence, but I think they really wanted Diana to learn a lesson she probably already knew, so it feels really forced.

Except this causes a giant continuity error. Diana is a child in this flashback scene. But, in the first movie, her mother didn’t find out she was doing all this fighting and training until she was a teenager. How did nobody notice that giant error? And if they did, why didn’t they notify Patty Jenkins so they could’ve gone back and reshot the scene with the actress that played Teenage Diana

She was obviously riding the side of the horse for a lil min before she hop on.

Wonder Woman is half-goddess so she is inherently stronger than regular amazons.

And think that part was referring to acceptance. She was so sure to win that when she was hit by the branch she chose to cheat so she could still win, instead of accepting that she was going to lose.

But she also showed how she won't give up in dire situations while also showing her adaptation from the norm. Also alot of battle are won based on "cheating" but in reality it's just creative outside thinking to pull an impossible victory. To say this is a lesson in not taking the short path I feel they really missed the mark. Besides no one could see what she did they just based it off how far down her flag was.

Do not watch the movie. Do not waste your precious time.

@KIDhazama This wasn't a battle it was a competition. If all the other amazons were allowed to "cheat" too then Young Diana would've stood no chance. We saw in the Justice League movie the amazons can be incredibly creative and quick-thinking warriors. They never gave up against Steppenwulf and showed lots of creative athleticism when keeping the motherbox away from him. The amazons were never lacking in those aspects. It was Young Diana here that was lacking in honesty.

She wasn't knocked off her horse. In a moment of hubris she looked back to admire how far ahead of her competition she was, and failed to see the tree limb. She caused her own problem, and failed to rectify properly it by at least breaking the checkpoint diamond before sliding down the drainage ditch. Further showing her lack of maturity and critical thinking ability.

Sure, only problem is on ninja warriors there are no stunt people and most important there is no cgi.
