  • Infantry Unit: Imperial Japanese Army Infantryman, World War Two
Training would be a tough process of hardening of mind, spirit, and body. During wartime, training could last only three months. An emphasis was put on bayonet fighting, which drew upon a belief in the Emperor and the ancient samurai warriors. The bayonet being a modern version of the samurai sword.

War sucks and should be avoided by every possible way. Women and children suffer the most and it’s underreported. Maybe put the leaders in a boxing ring and let them fight it out, but us everyday citizens who just want to make enough money to feed our family, LEAVE US OUT OF YOUR POLITICALLY MILLIONAIRE MOTIVATED FIGHTING!

Respect? Code? By what fucking nonsense codes, respects were Japanese DELIBERATELY mass murdering 30 million Chinese? Literally raping women to death, live dismemberment of civilians, children with samurai swords, live bayonet practice on half buried civilians, burying people alive, taking womens infants, toddlers, and throwing them through the windows in burning buildings, dashing their brains out on the roads, torture of POW's to death, removal of their penises and stuffing them in their mouth to be discovered by friendly soldiers, often personally acquainted with the victims, later on, you're goddamned right ill say what I will about the Japanese in that period, its you who should stfu

The nukes actually caused less loss of life than the mainland invasion of Japan would have, due to the dedication civilians & soldiers had to honorobu Japanese culture.
Also, the term "Banzai" actually means 1000 years, they said that because they believed their empire would last that long. They were essentially saying, "long live the emporer, 1000 years!" In modern Japanese culture, you may still hear people say Banzai as an exclamation of happiness the same way America would use "Hurray!"

The Japanese infantry rarely surrendered. This went into calculations of potential us losses on invasion.
But: could they? It was very rare to study Asian languages prior to the 1960’s, only a handful of universities taught them. And the us imprisoned most Japanese citizens, and used those few Japanese American soldiers mainly in Europe.
Marine Guy Louis Gabaldon got the act cross. Though from an hispanic family, from a young age he basically grew up with a neighboring Japanese family single handledly captured and spoke Japanese, though never formally studying it.
In taipan he went awol at night and snuck to Japanese lines and talked to them. The Japanese position has terrible they had been surrounded and pounded on for a long time. They had been told by TOKYO they would be tortured and killed by the marines. He captured 2 guys the first night, 5 the next. Then like 800 at once when he talked to an officer.
He wound up capturing like 1500 by himself.
Is it possible if the us had used more Japanese speaking soldiers instead of interning everyone a vastly large number of Japanese infantry could have been talked into surrender. Remember these Japanese soldiers where often in island caves, starving, sick, wounded against an enemy they knew they couldn’t beat.
    Just a theory/question.

I feel truly regrettable that there is misrecognition of what kind of videos.
In the first place, it must have been Western countries that treated the East Asian nations as slaves for about 400 years, isn't it?
The truth of history can be seen by reading and listening to the will of Hideki Tojo, the proclamation of the beginning and end of the war, Jewel Voice (Emperor's voice) Broadcasting, and statement of Judge Radhabinod Pal of India.
Naturally, I think there were some points that we should reflect on, but I am mortified that only Japan still blame today.

    • Adam Scott
      Adam Scott Před 4 dny

Two was enough, turns out 1 wasn't, but they promised more to come, as a bluff partially, they needed 1-2 months for more of them, and it took two being dropped to accept that there would be no glory filled, martyrdom death rituals, no chance to even be opposition, just stand there, and have death from the sky dropped on you before getting anywhere near the enemy, that is what made them realize they would get Japan as it had been known for millennia, completely annihilated to not even a legacy of going down fighting, to no possible avail but being destroyed, not even mutually with the enemy, this is how you get past Japan's mental block issue of Bushido, national honor
